Hi,

I do plan on creating some Foundry content, and although i will do most of it in english i would also like to to create some specific quests or campaings in my native language, Spanish, just because im more skilled on it and some of my friends have very little english knowledge.

Would i break any rule by doing so?

This is a very good question.

The whole search UI for Foundry would need some changes anyway, like categories. They could easily add a language tag to it, like English, French, German, Spanish etc.

if its possible and do not break any rules, there should be a filter so you search foundry quests by language

You can tag your quest as (Spanish) in description. I a not sure if you break something or not, but if I were cryptic, I would encourage it as it is in greater good of the game.

    Labeling is important though :)

My native language is portuguese but I will prolly make english content only in the foundry cuz I want most number of ppl as possible to have fun with my quests.

But its always good to have the option to make content in any language that I want tho.

The only problem I see: Descriptions, skills and other things.
They would all be in English, I don't know how dynamic the dialogues are.

Worst would be a mix of languages like "Nimm das Longsword of Mercy und ramme es in den Altar of great Justice!"

Ya but mostly those are names of places and items, not much can be done about it. Its just not right to translate a name cuz ppl would be even more confused IMO if in you quest a place has a different name.

I dont want names, places, skills and such translated, i hated when Blizzard did it in WoW, a place i know for its english name should remain that way, i would just like to be able to write the Story and conversations in Spanish.

Can foundry support scripting? Like you can script when & How many monsters will spawn in specific order / time?

I dont know about other games, but in D&D Faerun it works fine not to convert the names of cities/places to other languages.

For example, if I explain "Neverwinter" is called 'NeverWinter' because in common language 'Never' means <never> and Winter means <winter>.

This creates a kind of nice atmosphere where 'Common Language' suddenly becomes something unfamiliar and creating more interest.

I agree, like luzium said in his post, I dont like when ppl translates names of places or items, cuz usually they have some reason and meaning to be called like that and when u translate it just loses the meaning or becomes so weird
