Hi, I'm just wondering if it will still be possible to buy founder's packs after launch, or if they are only a pre-launch perk.
Were I marketing this game, I'd probably do what I could to at least make it appear that you'd need to 'get it soon!' before time ran out! to help to push sales... at the same time, I'd certainly hate to cut myself out of any future sales that I could make once the game was out and more people hear about it...
so.... were 'I' the marketing Dept. I imagine that I would answer this Q, in a way that would lead my customers to 'buy now', but still use words that 'technically' would leave me an 'out' - so that I could still sell it post launch...
maybe something like:
Most Devious:
"You can buy the founders pack right up till the Retail launch of the game!"
I say you "can" get it right up to release, and since I don't specifically state that you can't buy it after release, that option is still technically left open to me.
a 'medium' amount of Deviousness:
"we are only guaranteeing the founders packs will be available before launch."
by using the work 'grantee' discerning shoppers will know that my language is there specifically to encourage folks to 'buy now', but I'm implying that it 'may' still be something that you can buy after launch. This would be the line I'd most likely expect to see.
and last but not least:
The Honest Approach:
"While we hope that you will buy the Founders Packs now, and take advantage of some of the features that won't be available post launch. (i.e. Beta Weekend participation, and the 'head start' access to the game,) we recognize that some of you are saving up for the purchase, and we will most likely keep the option to buy a founders package available for at least some time after the retail launch."

I'd recommend assuming nothing based on any quote from me, I'm just a passionate fan, that enjoys watching the 'marketing' side of this game. I have no 'inside scoop' on what Cryptic or Perfect World Ent. will do - other than a long time watching the 'pre spin' of other games like this.
Lot's of 'life time' membership's have been offered in other games, where pre release, it's 'implied' that the life time membership wouldn't be available after launch, only to have them offered and promoted throughout the life time of the game.
soooo, I'm just making 'guesses' at what direction this will head.
G'luck to us all - I can't wait for this game to come out so I can play! :-)
