Graphics cars overheating

My graphics card is seriously overheating but only happens with this game, any thoughts on what i should do? Or do i suffer and just never get to play?

    What card are you using? You can manually adjust your fan speeds, but this game really isn't all that demanding. What other types of games have you run? Are you playing at max settings? If your system is outdated, there really isn't anything you can do but upgrade it, or like you suggest, "suffer".

    Options - Video - Troubleshooting

    Select the option to limit by 10%. GPU should never run at 99%, but poor optimization can lead to that.

    Nothing is ever accomplished from 90%-99% except excessive heat and GPU wear.

    My memory is long and I seem to remember the same exact thing happening to both CO and STO when they were in beta and just after launch it's definitely the code that needs checking because I've never changed anything about my Rig and sometime after STO was launched the code was checked and the bug that caused this was fixed.

    Im running a dated geforce gt 610 1gb and i run games like far cry 3, me3, tera, multitude of mmofps games and they all run fine.

    I did not see this option anywhere in the troubleshooting.

    I think its called 'reduce CPU and GPU'
