cant get patcher to get to login

hi,
i have installed and reinstalled between reboots, different versions of the game but never had a successfull start of the patcher to get to the login-screen of the patcher.

in the game root catalogue i do get this error message:
130322 10:11:45 1 [1]: Launcher PCL Error The connection was idle for too long
130322 10:12:33 1 [1]: Launcher PCL Error The connection was idle for too long
130322 10:42:18 1 [1]: Launcher PCL Error The connection was idle for too long
130322 12:14:26 1 [1]: Launcher PCL Error The connection was idle for too long
130322 13:25:39 1 [1]: Launcher PCL Error The connection was idle for too long

what is there for me to do so that i can get past this and patch and log in later today?!?

    no, firewall should not be a trouble in this game. ill doublecheck but hardly think i can make any difference since outgoing traffic is allowed per default.

    Patch definitely needs to be current. Otherwise you can avoid it and launch the game.exe file.

    Honestly in decades of IT, have I heard of a PCL error

    Google gives only printer related issues lol

    well i do hate printers but i hope they wont have anything to do with the patcher :P
    FW have no logs of blocking the patcher either

    In the launcher try the options like safemode or verify to see if it fixes it.

    gladly, but like i say, i dont get to the "log-in" part of the patcher where i assume the options are choosable.
    i get a little ccruptic patcher thingy in my upper left corner where it says cannot get connection, attemt 1, attemp2 and then a new window with an ok-button that closes and i get 2 more errors like i showed in my first post. thanks though

    ok, a third reinstall seems to have resolved my trouble, it seems to work as intended now. something must have been corrupt with that patcher
