Salutations!

Now that you've gotten the at-a-glance view of me and who I am, I'll introduce myself properly.

I'm a 35-year old stay-at-home writer with a deep-seated love of role-playing. There's hardly a point in my life that I don't remember role-playing in some form or fashion. I also enjoy a good story. A good story isn't just about the drama or the action, though, a good story (to me) is about the character and their personal triumphs and tribulations, who they are at the beginning of the story and who they turn out to be at the end.

I've done a lot of things, creatively-speaking, and I have my fingers in a lot of pies (paints?) but suffice to say that I just like sharing things with people. A lot of people over the years have said that they find me intimidating, both because I'm a writer and because I have so much role-play experience in my pocket. This is nothing to be afraid of. I'm a regular chick on the other end of the keyboard and I realize that you're human on the other end, too.

Thanks, seawalker! I hope so too.

My friends and I are currently running a PNP Forgotten Realms campaign, so I'm pseudo-importing my Shield Dwarf Paladin (... no paladins, so Guardian Fighter!) from there.

Hi and Welcome, Im sure the foundry could use your writing skills

I recommend reading the Neverwinter Extended FAQ if you havent already.
The Directory of the Founder Guilds of Neverwinter can help with guild shopping.

Also I invite you to have a look at my guild Hardcore Christian Gamers. We are family friendly. If you like it feel free to join.(I leave a link in my signature)

Ill see you round the forums and in-game
    I am usually Deaths Crowbar.

I've heard about the Foundry, but as of yet I haven't researched it in-depth. From what I read around the forums, it's not even available in Beta yet, so I haven't been too concerned. It sounds brilliant, though. I'll probably wait and see what others do with it, I've read it's got a pretty steep learning curve.

Foundry will be cool! Gond himself approves of foundry! Check my campaign this BW3. I am sure you will like the RP possibilities it opens up and lets you make your own different stories.

Welcome to Neverwinter - the city of eternal spring which stood against ravages of all consuming fire but was scalded by the fires from the heart of Faerun. A city where cloak and dagger rule the peaceful alleys.

Hail and well met brave adventurer and welcome to the Neverwinter forum!

If in your journey you seek a guild to aid you on your way, then might I suggest you make your way to the that notice board over there and look at the Directory of the Founder Guilds of Neverwinter as I'm sure you will find something that will take your fancy as DeathsSickle as so rightly pointed out. And Gil...Gil speaks the truth. The Foundry is the key to unlocking unimaginable power.

Additionally, if you should be seeking a friendly guild that is accepting of all and already has a strong presence in Neverwinter, then might I suggest you look at my own guild, The Neverwinter Knights as we may well be what you seek. All the best.

    Regards,

    Gov

Well, you seem to be a little "overqualified" for this position Ms/Mrs. Perpetualpaladin.

I am afraid that we are looking for someone a little younger/hipper.

The kind of RP'er we are looking for, nowadays, are children who grew up on video games. Who are more familiar with "Final Fantasy" than "Oriental Adventures."

You know...short attention spans, an inability to complete a sentence without using the word "like," who consider dice rolling "physical exercise" and struggle with the concept of THAC0.

We need gamers who will constantly spam the forums and facebook with vitriol about how (insert MMORPG name) sux (sic).

    In other words, morons.

But all kidding aside, welcome to the game. And the others are right, if you are gifted and focused enough to write for a Fantasy setting, then the "Foundry" should be your new pride and joy.

If I remember correctly, Cryptic has contests for the best Foundry missions. You can find examples at their Star Trek site and in the Star Trek Online forums. Good luck and good hunting.

I don't know... This is a pretty violent game. Seems you have an aversion to violence, which may cause you to have a difficult time getting out of the starting zone. Perhaps if you speak to the starting guy for a bit, you'll make good friends, have tea, eat a meal or two, and perhaps search for pretty things in a land far far away. Seriously, hope you find what you are looking for in the game, and if you make it past the violence, I hope to see you in-game!
