I was able to get a Sigil to level / rank 5 last beta weekend... it was 'blue' in rarity. It made me wonder just how high that you could go though.
Does anyone know the max level rank or level that you can get the sigil's runes, and other enchantements to?
Also... and I hate to 'doubt' your word.. but.. if you could, shed some light on how it is that you came to know such things?
was it rumor? or did you see it posted by a dev / moderator perhaps? maybe a pod cast of video interview or something that you could direct us to via link or google search.
Thanks so much for any help you can give.
zWolf.
Thanks,
zWolf / Wesgar

heh, that's actually partially why I'd asked, it would be nice to be able to 'say' in the vid how high you can go... and how many level 1 sigil drops that you'd need to get there.
as for the video production... it's been crazy busy... I'm not sure what happened, it's like I spend the 'week' recovering from a 'weekend' filled with Gaming and Caffeine! :-P
Had a convention thing this week, but NEXT week, hopefully I can actually get it put out.
thx for asking though, it's motivating thinking that there are folks that are interested in such things.
:-)
Thanks,

Seeing as there is an item to prevent the destruction upon failure i think reaching the max level will be impossible (without paying) given the amount of runes needed and enchant slots in gear

If it's like Champions Online's mod/fuse system, I think that goes to, like, rank 9 maybe? Anything past 5 starts getting harder and harder to fuse, of course, and correspondingly more expensive. In Champions you can loot rank 5 mods occasionally so I can see getting to rank 6 without too much trouble/expense but getting to rank 7 would be harder and anything higher than that would either be insanely time consuming and/or expensive.
Remember, you can find sigils and runes in your class specific nodes in dungeons. I know I found tons using the consumables and looting every node when I was questing. They do not always drop but I would say 1 in 3 nodes would have a rune/sigil. Granted any monster within the level range has a chance to drop them, although the rate seems to be pretty low. I know I didn't see many drops til I reached the pirate area after the spell plague tower.
It will take an insane amount of them to reach the higher level. I think every game I have played has been a 1:3 ratio for upgrading items like this... and yes, wards from the CS will be pretty well mandatory at a certain point. (there are 2 types, at the cost of $1 and $0.1 per)
lol 10 lvls ... so only ultimate cash spenders will have them so even if u can get lvl 5 at lvl cap as drop u would still need to spend over 20k zen per lvl 10 gem and thets 189 euros so to have i ger part whit lvl 10 gems u would need 600 euros

No need to panic from now
First of all we dont know what high level enchants drop, where and how.
Secondly, we dont know IF we can upgrade them to lvl 10 from now. Just cause it exists on the data files doesnt mean we will have the option from the start.
Even if we can level them to 10..one has to be really naive to think you wont spent money OR farm your brain out to sell AD on action to trade for zen in order for you to get them.
Once you reach lvl 6/7 enchant, based on the other post by Wesgar, it will be something like 50-50 to upgrade or break. So , its obvious you will need the ward thingie from the shop if u want max enchants.
In any case we have BW3 to try and find more info on this, which IMO is pretty important cause it will affect endgame, nerdraging, whining, elitism etc etc.

Nah, if you trade AD for Zen you can get the preservation wards for cheap. Those just protect you from loss on failure (which is what the farming folk will use)
The whales will most likely use the insta success ones for a $1 pop. Either way L10 will be endgame stuff that anyone can have with enough effort.
Although, there will be a point where its cheaper to buy the better ones and not break so many runes. F2P always caters towards convenience
There is a difference in item "rank" and item colors...
The "rank" (such as the tier level expressed above) is simple the rank level of that item - which is basically similar to the rank level of your character. The colors on the other hand indicate "rarity" or "availability" of a particular version of the item,
Items, whether it be weapons, armor, rune stones, purses or bags of holding, anything in-world really - all have different versions. In the case of armor, for example, you already know there are different flavors of an armor at the same rank. One might give high stats on protection, another might give higher stats on defense or whatnot.
The really good one will give higher stats on both.
The color of an item is it's rarity - meaning a lot more rare to drop as loot of be found while questing or be really expensive from the vendors. The colors are:
(uncolored) = "Common" - you'll run across this a lot more often than you'll care to.
Green = "Uncommon" - you'll still run across these quite often, not nowhere near as often as the common stuff.
Blue = "Rare" - as the name states
Pink (Purple?) = "Very Rare" - these are hardest to find and most expensive of the lot.
The the highest of rarities is PINK. The reason I threw "Purple" in there is because I could swear I've seen purple before - and it was rarer than blue, but not as rare as pink.
This is the reason why you might find a loot drop of an item (weapon or armor for example) that states "Recommended" even though it *appears* to have lower or less valuable stats than the one you already have equipped, it it's more rare.
For example, if you have an armor piece that gives (arbitrary stats here - totally made-up):
Common Armor XYZ:
Protection =+15
Defense = +9
and the replacement is a blue item:
Rare Armor XYZ
Protection = +8
Defense = +6
Dodge = +4
Buff = +1
Which of these two would you rather have? Surely not everyone would consider the blue version more valuable than the uncolored version, but most will think it is.

Based on the drops i got i dont believe we will see enchants higher then rank 6.
1-10 enhants rank 1 droped
10-20 rank 2
20-30 rank 3
30-40 rank 4
So i assume 40-50 rank 5 and 50-60 rank 6. This is not a fact, its an assumption.
If thats the case, prepare for some epic failures from rank 9 to 10 :P
rank 01 01-09
rank 02 10-19
rank 03 20-29
rank 04 30-39
rank 05 40-49
rank 06 50-59
rank 07 60-69
rank 08 70-79
rank 09 80-89
rank 10 90

Presuming L5 is the L60 content drop ...
`4 L5 = L6
16 L5 = L7
64 L5 = L8
...256
...1024

L10 - L1
Shows the 'rank' of runes with visual comparison.
Looks like there are 7 weapon enchants, L1-L5
and 5 Armor Enchants L1-L5 in the files anyways, so who knows exactly (these are separate from the stat adding enchantments)
