Beta weekend complaint

I played weekend one and two and after two I finally hit something that really bothers me about this game, besides the bug issues that will be ironed out before launch. The big problem is that their is NO difference in appearence of control wizard orbs....thay all look like clear bubbles, there is literally nothing different about it, that and the fact that the armor looks like complete HAMSTER really turned me off. When I hit 35ish, I got a new pair of boots....COWBOY boots....come on Dev team, seriously? The helms didnt work minus 2. (none for the wizard) and you gave us ugly robes and cowboy boots? Really? Seriously turned off unless that changes.

Good point. Maybe an appearance option for it in the future. Even something super cool looking in the Store.

I agree weapons should have different looks. The swords from guardian looked the same but the shields changed. Clerics and wizards had the same weapon skin from everyone I saw. Maybe there are end game weapons that show more of a variety but 0-40 there isn't. The game was really fun though :)

Yeah definitely need way more diversity in the appearance of our weapons and armour. Is part of the fun of leveling - to get access to a new look.
THIS IS CLERIC AGGRO IN BW3

I agree, I really enjoyed playing cleric but I disliked that every armor/weapon I got looked the same as the previous one I had. Variation (not only in weapons and armor) brings immersion and more cosmetic choices and thus longevity. I haven't played to a high level yet tho, so I can't tell if it still is this way further along. That said; I did (and will) enjoy the game very much.

I notived that about the Orb too. Different colours or effects or even shapes would be nice (think of the old Ioun Stones shapes).

In fact, make them Ioun Stones. That would be very cool. I always loved having one or more of those flying round my head as my Wizard.

I hope that the armor looks and drops are not fully activated in the beta. It felt almost as if there was 0 progression in looks from lvl 1 to lvl 40. Basically everything looked the same - except at lvl 30 or so you got boots and a new top. (yes there were few quirky drops like the leather robes from the Pirate boss and the Boots from the Female Orc boss which looked a bit different but couldn't even use them fro appearance change).

P.S. Stat wise progression didn't have good progression either, but that is another topic.

I played a wizard to level 31, and the last orb I got, for level 30 looked different. But I didn't even notice it was different until I finangled my camera to get a really close look at it. Then it made me wonder if they all looked different but due to rendering I couldn't see that.

An awful lot of weapons and armours look the same. My Guardian Fighter used about nine different swords, which only changed appearance about three or so times, eventually the last one I picked up and equipped had the same visual as the second sword I used at level six or so.

The last four upper body armours I equipped all had the same look too, I know they want to charge excessive amounts of Astral Diamonds for visual appearance customisation/transmogrification, but that's not really a good enough excuse not to have more options in the first place.

I strongly agree, nothing is more disappointing in an rpg (as a loot ***** sometimes) then picking up a new weapon/armour piece then equipping it and seeing the giraphic not change and it just being the same look as the old weapon.

Really need more "looks" for items as you level up and acquire them.

RPG's need progression, if your weapons/armour/class skill stays the same the whole way through..it really takes the "fun" out of finding gear.

Also why the stupid looking pose?Standing there with 2 fingers sticking up and staring at them, makes them look HAMSTER.

i agree, the armor/weapon detail and variation are not of 2013 mmo standards, it looks like a toned down fable game at some points, although more fun.

maybe they have better looking skin designs for all classes and weapons , but the only way you get to look cool, one has to visit their shop to buy the customization skins for weapons and armor ..

if you want to make money that would be a way to not only increase the quality of their models and variation of skins in weapons and clothing/armor design but also make a profit while doing so.

i mean horses look like , ...bad, but their armored spider for example looks like they spent some time working on it...

    food for thought.

I have to completely agree with this. My biggest complaint about this game is the customization limitations. It is on the verge of being ridiculous. Not only do we have set classes and skills, but my level 40 character looked somewhat like my level 15 character. I think you guys need to step it up with customization options and appearances. When I am level 60 I want to look like a level 60, HAMSTER mage or rogue, whatever class I am.
I could care less if I have to pay for the look, but at least put it in the game. I'll buy long black robes for my mage without a thought. :p I'd even give up that ugly orb for a staff or a small will o wisp. I think my orb was always the same look and size no matter what I changed it to.

Oh lord ty, so glad someone mentioned this...

I leveled from 1-28 this weekend on my DC and the armor barely changed I mean a shoulder pad here thigh plate there it was a huge letdown...

I don't expect every piece to be different but when I'm running around town and I can't tell the difference between me and every other DC its kinda ridiculous...

Every single DC looks like a clone because were all in the same exact armor?

It's every class I have noticed that has this problem everyone looks the same there is no variety at all....

I really hope this is just because its still beta and these are place holder armors...

That ugly silver/blue chest piece...... "Shudder"

I Agree. Dont take a great and fun game and drive people off because you dont do the simpler things. I know models take time and space, but making even the simplest of changes would go a long way.

From what I heard ingame over the weekend, Ioun Stones were available as a type of companion. I'd definitely like more variation in the orbs/holy symbols/weapons/etc.
