BETA Weekend 2 - Control Wizard Teleport Bug

I only played the Control Wizard this Beta weekend, putting aside it's lack of actual control spells, I frequently ran into the issue where I had teleported out of harms way LONG before an enemy attack occurred but I was still taking damage. Teleport is useless If I can't use it effectively to avoid taking damage. I'm sure you guys will correct this by the 22nd though :)

Cheers.

Yep the dodge mechanic for both Control Wizard and for Cleric (teleports) seem to need the teleport animation to finish before they calculate whether or not the mob has hit you.

Found it more reliable to manually step aside than to use the teleports (Cleric and Control Wizard).

    This needs a fix.

One thing to consider too, is the hand movement the wizard did for teleport. Means there was a slight delay before he actually teleported, but even with that considered, same happened to me. Would take damage during and after teleported, was quite annoying.

I saw this a lot aswell, but noticed on the third night I resisted nearly all attacks while teleporting. I think this may be the immediate fix.

I had this issue on occasion, but usually I was able to get out of the way with no damage taken. I also noticed that if I got hit, it was because I was slow, or casting a different skill that had to complete before I could teleport.

Every time I got hit, it was due to reaction time, or a previous skill cast. This would make me think if it's happening to you consistently, you either have poor reflexes, or are lagging. However, I do understand that it is possible that there is a bug with teleporting, and I just didn't experience it personally. Also I found that using a directional key with Shift is more responsive than the double tap.

Yes i noticed shift was easier to use as well. As far as damage while teleporting, I did a lot of testing with it where I think perhaps server lag could account for it, but there were times where tele would work fine, other times my damage would tick on me during or after teleporting.

This is also something I disliked; and something that happened alot.

I also want to throw out there that the Cleric "dodge" feels WAY more natural than the teleport... maybe its the root at the end of it I don't know; but it just doesn't feel fluid, it doesn't feel like an actual teleport... more like I become a ball of rock and move over to this place and stop... then can move. Just feels awkward to use compared to cleric.

Yea. Trust me, neither me or Babylon are bad players. I have yet o die (since I was only lvl 20, that does not say much, I know). But I have also only been standing in a splat maby twice (after 16hours gaming, a total of 30 hours awake). So that is not the issue. Trust us, there was a teleport/still-dmg-bug.

I experienced this bug aswell. It basically comes down to you having to teleport away well in advance of the enemy coming. If you try to teleport mid swing of a mob, you still get hit most of the time.

I didn't experience this on my cleric or wizard, but actually had a similar problem with my rogue and his dodge roll. I'd go into the roll and still get hit, especially from ogre aoe's. It seemed to happen mostly with them.

Never once saw this bug! Haha, I resiste every ounce of damage I was about to take as I was blinking. Now as for lack of control spells....You are a moron. Every single spell is a control spell. The knock backs, the pull in's, the slowing, freezing, ect are all control. The only two non control spells were ray of enfeblement and magic missle. Thats it.
