I'm curious as that is my favorite style of play on games like this, can someone help me out? Thanks.

DoT damage wasn't really big in DnD. Usually you would use an ability and it would give 5 or 10 damage when the creature took its turn. but it could be shrugged off if they rolled a saving throw. But there wasnt a class that was based off doing consistent dot dmg
