Account Registration Woes

Hey people,

Has anyone had any issues registering their account for the PWE sites? My friend is trying to register for today's beta weekend but he tries and doesn't get any e-mail to validate his account and when he tries to remake it, it tells him his username is taken. I'm not sure where to look for issues concerning accounts so perhaps if anyone could direct me that would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I looked and found the account registration Q&As, directed my friend toward writing something to customer support as it's been well over six hours (last night) since he tried making the account. Anyone have any experience and resolution with this?

Edit #2: On-line support has answered my friend saying it would get back to him in 3-4 days...

    Support here leaves a lot to be desired, but awful customer service seems to be the industry standard.

    As an update:

    So I've literally handed my friend a once used e-mail address so he could use it uniquely to register, I ran it through up to receiving the validation e-mail in the junk box and he took over. Everything was fine until he tried logging into the client, tells him the password or username is wrong. He's tried to change it but it won't "take" it. So now I'm trying it myself and it's the damnedest thing because it either tells me the password is changed or it doesn't seem to accept it at all, either way I can't login with this essentially throwaway account.

    I've given money based on the gameplay of this game but if I couldn't even play with my friend this weekend on account of issues like this, I'm seriously reconsidering my choice here. Phone support is useless with no one to answer and voicemail full.

    It sounds silly, but make sure he is using the right user name. There is an account name, a forum name and an @handle. They can all be different (and should be).

    Also, have you tried using the recovery page to reset the ID?

    Hey the funny thing is that I just figured out that it was the username at least part of the latest problem. The e-mail somehow ended up being the username, don't ask me I didn't handle that.

    So he's logged in and patching, doesn't explain why he never got the e-mail or when phone support starts but for now I will hope that he can play when the time comes.

    Edit: I thought I should mention that I did use the recover username to find that out, looked funny to see the e-mail to say the least almost wasn't sure what I was looking at.

    My dad is experiencing the same issue with his newly created account. He can't log in as it keeps telling him the password is wrong. He tried changing the password and then it tells him the new password is wrong. It is not the username as we have already triple checked that. This is pretty ridiculous and there is no way for him to contact support it seems. Can't say that either of us are really looking to throw money at this game at this point.
