Just wandering if you guys think they will outline a more definitive release schedule at PAX this month?
I really dont mind when it is released (although sooner > later) but could really do with knowing as early as possible for making sure im not working and the timing seems really good for it

Given that the third (and likely final) beta weekend runs concurrent to PAX East, I would not be surprised if they announced the open beta launch date at the conclusion of PAX East or shortly thereafter. Unless there is substantial work left to do or some large issues arise that need to be fixed, they probably already have a fairly solid date in mind, and I get the feeling it will be in late April.
The nice thing about a free-to-play, digitally distributed game, of course, is that the launch date is amazingly flexible. They do not need to time anything with retailers and do not need to worry about distribution. They could realistically launch at any time with very little notice. A game that is going to take up shelf space at stores has a lot more lead time and a lot more expense associated with pushing dates back, and therefore less flexibility.
I can't say what will be announced, but I can say that I am insanely jealous of everyone going. It's going to be awesome, and I think everyone will be in for quite a treat.

When you say everyone do you mean everyone there or everyone including us?

grrrrrr free ales, brandy, and muffins.... me lub some muffins.. stuck with cheep beers and stale bread...
I remember there was a lot of speculation that there would be a SW:TOR announcement at PAX West for SW:TOR.
It never came.
I think PAX generates its own publicity, such that your mere presence there gets the attention you need. Better to wait and announce on a slower week to get more attention to the announcement.
I wager you'll here an announcement after PAX East, probably late April and we'll be looking at a launch right around Memorial Day or the week after.
Those are total guesses and my track record on these predictions is really lousy.

yeah they need to do a pax central in chicago or something. or really any gaming convention in or near chicago..
Surely they wont wait till june/july to release the game...then it would be winter in the southern hemisphere. And you cant release "Neverwinter"...in Winter surely..:P
"I cannot be caged! I cannot be controlled! Understand this as you die, ever pathetic, ever fools!"
However, I think a better location for PAX would be New Orleans or Baton Rouge.
Wait, you live where they go the beer in Smokey and the Bandit? If so gotta meet sometime. If you just meant PAX, I would rather it be in Shreveport the Baton Rouge(its easier for me to go the closer it is). We do have a ComicCon down here and some WotC guys come to represent DnD stuff. Thats usually in August though
I wish they had a PAX where I live(hint to where I live: East Bound and Down Load em up and Truckin) Id spend all day at the Neverwinter booth...
I will be there this year again. PW had a very small both for Neverwinter last year. I hope this year it is much bigger. I hope they have a party later in the night like SWTOR team did last year. I had a great time.
Yeah, they have 3 beta weekends, big chance is game is coming early april and it will go live immediatly.
I think its useless to have open beta since its a free game. open beta with no character wipe as many say is the same as live.
ah game is coming in April think even first week of april
Having looked at the CBWE schedule, and its spacing, and doing a bit of reasoned extrapolation for thereafter, I came up with an earliest possible time frame of mid-April. Not the first week of the month, but quite possibly the 3rd, barring unforeseen problems during the CBWE's..
My reasoned estimate? On or around the 15th of April at the earliest for launch, although I could be pleasantly surprised with it being earlier, in the form of an open beta/soft launch approach, which would not be totally unreasonable...

Sooner is not always > later.

Not always. But in this case I've seen enough of the game to know that I'd like it to come out right now.
