Account Security in Neverwinter?

hosilockshosilocks Member, Neverwinter Beta Users Posts: 43
Hi Guys

I did brush on to this topic in another thread but it was off topic and is a real concern for me so thought I'd give it it's own thread :)

Have they discussed anywhere what they have in ways of keeping our account details safe or to stop would be hacking scum getting there hands on our goodies?

I've never had any issues with my accounts on other games and always keep my passwords different and hard to guess etc but I have always also bought in to account security measures and with the added issue of using a real money cash shop I'd like to know my account is as safe as possible

My preference is the key code fobs that both blizzard and EA (wow and SWTOR respectively) used but I also really liked the "Coin lock" in Rift and the authentication email in GW2 was also very good both giving a secondary layer of security when logging in from different machines.

If you are talking about their servers being hacked, I doubt they will talk about their server security. If you are talking about your account getting hacked in another way, that is completely out of their hands. If you don't visit dubious sites or put your account name and password out there for someone to see it is extremely unlikely your account will get hacked. That is really in the users wheelhouse. But when you log in from a new machine have not logged in from yet you get sent an email to your registered account email address that you have to type in kinda like coin lock in Rift.

All Cryptic games use Account Guard which is likely a similar system to what you describe in GW2.
