Im not like most others who are just complaining to complain.ive been following the progress of this game for some time now and what worries me just slightly is the way the weapons are done. there not enough weapon variations. there should be tons because dnd had some. a gaurdian fighters for example should be able to use any 1h weapon with a shield. and armor being class specific kinda blows but i can live with it.

This has come up quite a bit recently.
I don't believe we'll be limited to those weapons. Just look at how Sergeant Knox uses a Greataxe in this video.
I think for testing purposes different weapons haven't been added in yet simply so players can focus more on the actual gameplay rather than questioning if Weapon A is better than Weapon B or the like. Perhaps we'll get an answer to this soon though!
You're certainly not the only one with that fear/complaint!
I have a feeling its going to be class specific weapons but theyre going to have some monsters drop short duration weapons like raiderZ that you can pick up and use (also similar to vindictus)
I'd settle for morning stars and good old fashioned maces. Blunt weapons, ftw!!!

personally i hope the game will have much much deeper class building and customising options avalialbe, not just with weapons.
i definately think they should not have gone pregen and should have looked at DDO as a base and built on that because that is a very successful true action D&D game. this is looking like cookie cutter casual HAMSTER with a D&D name.
i am sad wizards allowed cryptic to water D&D down this much.

Anyhow, I agree with you that weapon variety is a must.
Not to mention the rogue picking up and using a spear, and the tiefling mage seemed to be casting using a longsword as an implement.
