im confused what this represents. In most games that use this interface, it represents shield strength on a particular side. In neverwinter i never see them fill or fade or do anything
You get shield-attacks to replensh the pool while blocking, which makes you block some foes indefinately (e.g. ogres hit too hard to replensh with that skill).
Also if you let it get all the way down and it turns orange, you have to refill it completely before you can block at all... so be careful fighting large groups or REALLY strong enemies.

Yeah I almost got caught on this one before I figured out the mechanic. It works really well if you learn to manage it. I really like the guardian fighter so far. Just wish I had more weapon options. Not liking the restriction to swords.

I got an axe for my Guardian from the Orc Assult Scirmish. Hopefully we'll see even more variations of weapons at higher levels.
