I can't seem to find an answer to this question. Is there an actual world to explore or just a city hub(much like DDO) that you can queue dungeons at?

But if you queue into a a forest zone you could still utilize a mount. That doesn't mean everyone is still chilling in a City Hub prior to queuing up.

The world is made up of different persistent zones inside the city as well as around the Sword Coast. In each zone there are a series of quests that take place in the zone itself as well as personal instances for certain quests. The zones can get quite large and you'll be glad to have a mount. There's quite a wide variety of environments to explore in Neverwinter!
