Travel or Teleport...

This may have been discussed somewhere that I've not seen, but I'm curious if our means of travel is the instant teleport from the world map and/or traveling to the spot you're trying to go. One of the things I've always loved about MMOs as a whole is the opportunity to explore the world. I love seeing the sights and soaking in the environment as I get to where I gotta go. I've not seen any open-world traveling in the materials I've seen so far, but I have seen the teleporting nodes. Just curious if both are options.

Yeah, I've seen the mounts. I guess what I'm curious is if you can use them to travel between adventure zones freely or if you just use them once you port there.

You can keep the mounts. You can have YOUR specific mount like spider or horse.

I believe there was info that the game is around 50/50 Open World/Instance (this may have changed), so you can travel from instance to instance on a horse, or on foot. As far as portals...I have no idea.

I may be wrong but I thought that the zones would be connected by some kind of fast travel.

It looks as so, in the german video, he is clearly navigating a fast travel map which would mean that moving from zone to zone (like Protectors Enclave to the Tower District) will be a loading screen but you can use your mounts to navigate around the zones themselves.

Yes - seems so from videos. You can travel inside the city on mounts and travel to a gate. If you want to go from NW to Vellosk, take the teleport using Map.

Then when in Vellosk (as from interview videos from conventions) there will be an open area open to all players with respawning monsters. You kill werewolves in open area and collect some coins of Selune and same amount of SHar's or something (forgot what term he used for that). That area you can again travel on mount excpet during combat.

Then you use the coins to open an instance in a portal or something and you can start with instance.

Can we use mount in instance? We don't know yet but no reason to believe we should not be able to.
