So i saw a what could have been a small elf or a gnome holding a bow at the end of the great weapon fighter trailer.

Hope that means ranger class could be included under rogue maybe at launch?

Here to hoping for traps , stealth and some good old sniping.

Oh Selune! That is a resolved thingy. Check my Answers from developer thread.

It is a NPC named dusty - its a dwarf, female dwarf, without beard.

Not sure whats worse, spilled beer or my hopes for a ranger class shattered.

but but - it clearly shows a wizard, a fighter, and a rogue picking a lock or looting a chest whatever, and it shows dusty (i guess) holding a bow. why would it clearly show the other classes, except cleric, and then include an NPC thats not a class? Doesn't follow in my mind.

    Trying to locate your post.

Don't be so sure. I created a poll and many people agree its not the wizard. Majority agrees it is not control wizard.

Maybe warlock, sorcerer or ... DUN DUN DUN!

    Necromancer!

might be difficult to have a necro with the action oriented combat. hate the GW2 necro..boring.

It uses fire - while control wizard is said to use ice. I would say smaller chance than say a sorcerer or warlock.

Udnead don't use fire that much.

Didn't remember fire part, good looking out. Wonder if they'll be splitting wizard subclasses by elements then?

anyway, guess were way off topic but what the H.

You may be right too, but we have to wait and watch In the works means ranger should make it at launch imo, though devs have refused to say anything more than that.

I really hope its warlock. Playing a tiefling warlock will be cool!

I would love a ranger class. Always the class I first roll. Bring it on Neverwinter!

I really hope the Ranger class comes out by release. It is easily my favorite class to play. It will be interesting to see if they bring out all the 4e classes and races over time. There are plenty to choose from. I noticed some of my favorite races were missing as well.

I also hope to see the Ranger Class. I liked the changes that 4e did to them. If I can get a ranger and swordmage I would be in heaven.

Actually if would would have looked around the many-arrow area you would have found a ruined house with three toons standing around (they all had the same family name, can't remember it though). They suspiciously looked like some of the missing classes (ranger, druid, barbarian).

    Five Classes at launch.

    Guardian Fighter.
    Trickster Rogue.
    Great Weapon Fighter.
    Devoted Cleric.
    Control Wizard.

There will be other classes coming later. Ranger could/should be one. Nothing has been said officially.

It would seem that a Ranger at, or most likely after, launch is realistic. Currently, there are two at-will abilities for Archer Rangers hidden away in the game files:

    Archer_Atwill_Aimed
    Archer_Atwill_Rapid

Since these are the only indications, at this point, of an archer ranger, it's likely that we'll get this class sometime post-launch. Who knows, though, Cryptic could surprise us and have it ready sooner than that. Here's hoping that's the case. Either way, so long as this class eventually makes it in the game, I'm happy.

Melee Ranger because each class cannot use more than one weapon archetype. I have not played WoW and awhile but I think Hunter lost the ability to melee as well. So perhaps they are simply trying to mimic WoW like most MMOs tend to do versus trying to half-*** the 4th ED rules. Hunter in LotRO still gets to melee I believe. DDO Ranger gets both melee and ranged feats to make up for no pet, this I know for sure. In Neverwinter's defense I will admit DDO did not want players using ranged weapon combat as well so it was handicapped to keep players from making ranged builds for classes.
