I think it is great, and I will play it, as soon as you give me a Half-Orc to play it with. Untill Half-Orcs become playable, not sure what race or class I'll play. Leaning heavily to a Half-Elf, but not sure what class. Would love to try a War Mage, but alass, that doesn't seem availabel either... sigh. So maybe a Control Wizzy, or a Devout Cleric.

Not sure what to think of it so far although it looks kinda cartoony and its adopting the japanese final fantasy greatweapon the size of a flagpole style im still gonna give it a shot. I can always change cosmetics if I dont like the way it looks I guess, but its too bad I still have to look at other players who enjoy that particular look of greatweapon fighters.....looks like im going guardian fighter.

I lean more towards Divine so a Cleric will be my first and foremost class. But I do like what I see of the Great Weapon Fighter and that will be my Fighter class pick. Just wish we saw a bit of the shouts in action in the vid and some elaboration on that Avalanche of Steel that was mentioned in the article.

are we looking at the same thing...

as a longggggg time FF player i couldnt disagree more.

The main pic on the page not only looks fantastic but the weapon look size proportionate but the characters look well put together and gritty, although not as gritty and dark as some of us d&d'er would like but still a much better improvement over what it could of been i.e guild wars 2 designed by women after watching a my little pony maraton. Also that sword looks epic and it would actually fit into the d&d universe, not like WOW/GW2/ect whose weapons look like knuckledusters with christmas trees attached.

I really think those graphic stills are excellent and are everything ive been waiting for. I mean its an MMO you are not gonna have Heavy Rain type animation and characters.

Devoted cleric and a great weapon fighter.

Actually their style I think is the most logical and realistic style, one simply is not gonna wield a great weapon like a longsword. They are after all the orgins of martial arts and likely have the most realistic animations.

I personally like their style. I like how they use their body to support the weapon in a ready stance which is the most logicial imo.

Yes, the animations are very realistic. They wield it like a heavy weapon, not seen a lot in many, rather any game. I think last animation like that I saw in fable.

And I also like the ballet dance they do with the Greatweapon. It shows they have finesse in their weapon too. "This is my dagger, this is my sword. This is for fighting..."

This would be really awesome too if they can use other weapons and even exotic weapons like in D&D. Ode to the days of a two bladed sword wielding character in D&D.

according to devs they should be available. Also greatsword, greataxe and scythe for two handed fighter were confirmed earlier, so unless they change it, they should be in game at launch

Being a scythe lover, I called for realistic scythe to be used and was told by crypticmapolis (around mid 2012 I think) that great weapon fighter can use weapons like two-handed axe, greatsword and scythe.

Everyone was happy as it gets +9 against all flora like weed.

I mean, to make weed immune to to scythe you have to chop it to many peices, but then it gets +4 against bludgeoning weapons.

So you have to dry it to make it mmune to scythe and mace (two weapons I use).

But then a mage like truthseeker who uses fireball gets +6 against dried weed. Only way to make it immune to fire is to actually burn it....

huh? What? No I am not teaching you anything... you misunderstand!

+9 weed? Oh, I read that wrong.

A scythe is not my implement of choice when confronted with weed :)

Beware, the is this city called Thundertree, OK a copy paste from what I had written on wikia before:-
    Thundertree

Thundertree was a village to Neverwinter's east, and the best source of timber to the great city. The workers fled as Mount Hotenow erupted and left all kinds of wood behind - whether uncut, cut, or worked and finished. It is now a burnt down skeleton of a village haunted by undead flora. However, it is said that there is a dwarf who sends unfortunate travellers who meet her, to their deaths.

'*Also said to be home to an unknown fallen paladin of Tyr hundreds of year ago who almost brought Neverwinter to its knees.

Lets see you asking for my Scythe when Vampire sunflower eats you...

Personally, I've always had a fondness for casters. I'm very much looking forward to playing a Wizard. Now, I cut my teeth in the Greyhawk setting, and I've run a lot in Dragonlance, so I'm not as familiar with the Forgotten Realms, but I really want to see some of the classic elements that made D&D so great come alive in this game on a massive scale.
