Nice find!! I didn't notice any changes there but they have edited humans, half-elves, and elves so far.

    Good eye Jade!

Thanks Faleth, but if anything, I have a natural gift for spotting the obvious as this bit of information is spotlighted on the front page of the game under news and announcements.

Little confused, how is getting a bonus to critical hit damage a reason to walk AWAY from a rogue class?

I was kidding as I would never, <fingers crossed> , become a member of the cloth. Incense makes me sneeze; I get a nasty rash from anything base metal; I barely go to temple as it is; too many "thee's and thou's" ; and I only pray when I am about to meet or barely miss a meeting with my maker/s, for the umpteenth time.

Had to impersonate a priest before, but that is a story for another time...

I was actually hinting to the wisdom bonus. Which I, like most adventurers, can never have too much of, wisdom that is and, in certain situations, severely lack...

Then come join the clergy of Lolth!

We have no polite talk nonsense here and our priestesses are encouraged to not wear cloth or metal... or anything for that matter b:chuckle No incense either! Just make sure you got no arachnophobia...

Oh, and there's totaly no discrimination based on the colour of your skin! We'll definitely not gut you, dismember you and use your ears for soup if you look away for more than a second. Honest! b:sin

I tried to impersonate a Nun once, the beard tied it all together, but the earrings gave me away.

I for one am happy to see the half elf in the mix..of course it wouldn't be D&D without them.

It's a little of both. Without getting into the specifics, 4E elves get a Dex bonus and a bonus to something else. With the exception of humans, all races get bonuses to 2 ability scores in some fashion and no penalties.

In the PnP game you get a little choice in just how that works out, so I'm guessing in the MMO that choice has been made for us (Wis).

There are three elven races in 4e D&D, the Elves, the Eladrin, and the Drow. Elves and Eladrin are essentially a split between the elves of previous editions: all the arcane an intellectual elf culture went to the Eladrin. Elves, on the other hand, incorporate more of the "nature elf' theme present in Wood Elves and Wild Elves.

All three elven races get +2 Dexterity as one of their focus attributes. As befits highly intelligent archmages and refined duelists, the Eladrin also gain +2 Intelligence. As befits incredibly perceptive and alert rangers, trackers, and woodsmen, the Elves gained +2 Wisdom. And as befits a culture that emphasizes manipulation and deception, the Drow got +2 Charisma.

In P&P attribute-wise they get a +2 to Dex and either a +2 to int or wis. I'm seeing (disappointedly but I can understand why in regards to coding) the elves (and likely all other races) get a fixed +2 to both stats (for elf dex and wis like humans get a fixed (?) +2 to con.) Due to the mess it caused on another thread, I'm not going into whether the benefits are good or bad for elves, humans etc, and will hold off on both comments in forum and posting on the FAQ until we understand what they actually mean in the game.

But I still am rooting for Eladrin as a future race too. Both for aesthetic and ability reasons. (Come on, who DOESN'T want Glow-y eyes?)

Thats a very reasonable explanation! I am jealous I didn't point it out :-(

Ok, so I bought the HNP and FFW pack and see the option to play Drow or Menz Renegade, and I see the Moon Elf race, but where's the Sun Elf race?
