In case you haven't already seen them, we've posted two new trailers for Neverwinter:
The second part of our Siege of Neverwinter CG trailer, and an overview of
the lore surrounding Vellosk.
We'll keep everyone updated as more news comes out of E3, so keep your eyes stuck to the forums, blog and Facebook.

The gameplay looks very enjoyable.
However, I had a question regarding the gameplay video.
Some people in the forums commented that:-
- The character models look very dated, or low-res
- Animations sometimes seem to be a bit... jerky?
[ref: thread]
So I wanted to know if this is intended(because of gameplay) or would be corrected before launch? Or was the recording of gameplay just done at lower resolutions?
Myself, I think that gameplay is important than graphics. However, I was not referring to my opinion but opinions like:-
this this this this and some more.
Thought this too at first Gilly, but after watching that delve vid was less concerned, look quite fluid.
If it helps, I've been told the first video is a trailer, and the second (lore) video is from actual gameplay.
The problem there is your paying attention to the youtube fluff. Where every vitriol human being seems to collect. Well aside from the Blabbermouth site anyhow.
Can't believe how some were bashing on her outfit, thought for once we saw an eye candy vid where a heroine wasn't in some skimpy impractical bikini outfit. Thought it was pretty practical and sound armor for that half elf vixen.
I think I said this elsewhere, but I think the trailer as a whole was really creative. The analogy of dolls fighting with undead(who are mindless dolls), the realism of a 'normal' villager's story - who can't throw fireballs or teleport - that was amazing.
Also ability of throwing daggers and teleporting like that girl are already in the game, if you have seen the walkthrough video of E3. The teleporting looks more amazing when seen with still camera rather than in game though - where the camera is fixed to the player character.
Apart from that, I really liked the idea of girl cutting her armpad when she saw the non-minion enemy - it was really logical and thoughtful. To fight him, she doesn't need any AC because it is a one-hit kill but rather dodge. And armpad is not going to save her from that blunt weapon. So she gains points in acrobatics (handstands) by getting rid of armor.
Apart from that, her clothes were quite practical. She is a rogue and thus has to be agile. So she needs freedom at the joints like waist and shoulder. She needs some armor as she is fighting close range.
I don't know if it is just me who is imagining things, but I think a lot of thought would have gone into selecting everything. And I personally find it to my taste and find it quite realistic.
I agree wholeheartedly. I think that trailer was really well done- it gives just a tiny taste of back story, and really shows that serious thought was put into it. I really enjoyed the contrast between the fighting scenes and the flashbacks.
As for being "too hot"... any female in superb fighting shape wearing leather armor while jumping around killing things is going to look hot (barring any absurdities, like literally having the head of a pig). Having tight armor isn't just for looks- it is, as gillrmn said, practical. No Capes!
I loved the trailers they were showing. So pretty... ....

I've watched this several times. My only concern is there seems to be a mouse-centric perspective to the rogue's battle tactics. Hopefully, we can remap the keyboard to provide the same game-play experience without having to go all-out on the mouse. I'm not a good mouse player.
As long as you understand it's default setup is WASD movement and mouse look mouse movement. I have yet to see a Cryptic game that does not allow some degree of remapping, but this is a new beast of a game altogether, so we'll see.
eye gib up.
get beta key here.
The beta key is a lie
(parody of cake is a lie)
i must have watch most of them, mostly the gameplay ones...
honestly, I am not really impressed, graphics and animations seems alright no more, a lot of special effects when using special abilities etc...a bit too tacky in my taste but what really annoys me the most is the fast paced action...it s a bit too much. For sure Hack and Slash is a big part of D&D however, i m more use to baldur's gate up to NWN2 type of D&D games...a bit more tactics, companion's management, world exploration etc...i mean yes D&D can be dungeon exploration and killing monsters only...but it can be so much more. i have the feeling this game like all MMO are only focusing on the action part.
i think this is my biggest grief against Cryptic games in general, it s too much action based. they tend to let down the bigger picture of the IP they are dealing with. Star Trek online is a perfect example of shoot them up space game wrap by a well known IP. Many players stopped playing including myself as they did not recognize most of the important values showed into the Star Trek franchise(bugs, repetitiveness and price gouging were among other issues).
Plus the fact that the foundry will be a limited tool is not going to reassure me knowing that players won t be able to create adventures at their full potentials.
at least it s going to be free...can t ask too much then.
The issue of graphics has been brought up many times, however if you see gameplay video it has much better stuff (shtupphh) compared to official videos.
Regarding STO, I haven't played it, but my starcraft friends who are into the 'stars' stuff, in their opinion it is much better executed project compared to SW - which they often badmouth. They do have a few things to say about it, but in general they are happy to play it. So I would believe that it is a job well done, although there is always a room for improvement.
don t get me wrong, STO can t be that bad...1000's of people are playing it. the type of game-play offered is just not my cup of tea. I just can t be bothered playing even if i am a Trekkie and have a lifetime subscription.
BTW i was talking about gameplay videos, official videos are...nvm... once again my primary concern is about the game-play its main focus and its limitations.
Ouch, those E3 video scared me. And the comments by a couple game reviewers who were at E3 saying the game looked "janky". These were reviewers who normally love every new game (a little too much...I purchased a couple duds based on their enthusiasm). They also were excited about neverwinter until E3.
But I'll see what comes of it. The video above had some nice D&D vibe to it with cool environments. It looks dated but also looks like it has heart. It looks like a D&D game that might have been made 15 years ago before big budgets and publishers started controlling production. Now it just has to make me like MMOs which is the biggest hurdle. I was hoping SWTOR would do it with its strong story roots, but after 15 minutes of combat and respawning enemies 30 feet from me, I was out!
Lol, I was the one to mention that. Did start rather a nice fight there
