Icewind Dale - Safe Keeping quest - Can't turn in quest.

in Bug Reports (PC)
After completing 1 of the 2 optional requirements, I am unable to turn in the quest. The quest description mentions 2 "either/or" requirements ...
"by completing Heroic Encounters OR mining Black Ice Deposits". However, after completing the "Collect Raw Black Ice (300/300)", There is no one in which to turn in the quest.

    I had to complete all the "optional" requirements in order to turn in this quest.



    Dev ... please fix this by changing the word "or" to "and".

    Yes, you have to do both... I think it must have always been like that.

    I will say though, you can often achieve the raw black ice part along the way by doing other quests that reward raw black ice... you don't have to use the pick to chip away at the outcrops.

    It has always been that way. They are not optional. 1 HE and a pocket full of black ice.

    If they are not optional ... then why does it say "or" ?

    If it was inclusive, then shouldn't it say "and" ?

    Yes, it is confusing but what it means is:

    "Collect raw black ice" by "completing Heroic Encounter or mining black ice deposit .....".

    You have the option of how to collect raw black ice. That is where the 'or' mean.
    i.e. it only mentions how to do the 2nd task.
    It does not mention how to do the 1st task because it is obvious as it says "Complete Heroic Encounter (0/1)".
    New player may not know how to 'Collect raw black ice' and that is what the top description means to explain.

    In the past, all HE provided raw black ice. They changed that few years ago. Now, only big HE gives raw black ice.

    Yeah, the "or" refers to different methods of getting black ice.
    The quest requires that you do both 1 heroic encounter (just for the sake of doing 1), AND get black ice by any method.

    We actually used to get small black ice drops in Kessel's retreat which counted, but those just stopped at some point.

    Yes, the black ice drops from monsters did stop in Kessel's retreat... but I think you get some at the end (now I'm not sure if that's raw or refined...)
    I think you also get some for Biggrin's tomb, and maybe also for the Need for Mead.

    You never get any raw black ice from Biggrin's tomb.
