disconnect when zoning or queuing. Please help...

nudge#4735 nudge Member Posts: 6 Arc User
I and my wife are constantly timing out and disconnecting during zoning. It sometimes only happens to one of us and we are on the same network. After getting timed out, we have to re login. It then usually says searching for characters which times out most of the time again. Then we have to log in again and it works extremely quickly.

We are in Florida. My brother is in NY. He sometimes has the same issue but rarely.

I'm not sure if this will help you, but I had an issue a few years back where all websites timed out and thought I was not connected when I really was and there was nothing wrong with my internet speeds. In the end the issue turned out to be my Network driver settings. There were a bunch of them enabled which were artificially slowing things down, mostly the 'EEE' and 'Green Energy' settings. A few others like shutdown/wake on LAN and Jumbo Frames also needed to be disabled. You can also set your Duplex speed setting in here. After I disabled the offending settings I never had an issue again. Bear in mind I am on a Desktop PC and not a laptop, all the energy saving green settings are mainly for devices which use batteries so if you're running Neverwinter on something like that this advice may not be of any help to you.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

If none of the proxy change anything, it could be your local ISP pipeline bandwidth issue.

That means you didn't have a problem when you did that.
When you have the problem, do the test at that moment.

    Reboot comp and router lately?

Lol, yeah... Thing is it happens to my wife too, but when we both zone together not always both of us are affected. I am wired and she is wireless and it happens more to me.
