HELP cant post screen shots to support

jana#2651 jana Member Posts: 688 Arc User
I have had a problem with the armor reenforcements not reflecting the stats or il push they are suppose too. Once I forgot to take a screen shot first like an idiot- because I have had multi problems with this-but the ones I did, I can't upload on a ticket. Cryptic or arc suggests opening up paint before you take a screen shot but I cant open up paint while playing neverwinter-don't know if I can upload it if I did. Sometimes I can upload screen shots and sometimes-mainly-I can't, can anyone help so its not so hit and miss. I have a new computer with windows 11 and a ton of everything it needs. If you can help me I will name my next new companion after you!

Open Paint if you have it to save your screenshot with. Personally, I tend to use Open Office for such things.

Then copy the image and paste it into your missive to Support.

To open a program while the game is running, Alt-Tab the game. That will minimalize it so that you can do other things with your computer.

Yes, you can open up "paint" program when you are playing Neverwinter.

Learn how to minimize and maximize windows in windows 11. I don't use Windows 11 myself.

Jana, try this. Before you open the game open everything you want; Paint, Word, Google, etc. Now open the game and press ESC then select Options, then Display and then select Windowed. Now size your windowed screen to take up the whole screen except the task bar at the bottom of your screen. Now you can take screen shots and then click on Paint on your task bar at the bottom of your screen to use it without exiting the game, When done with paint click on the Neverwinter icon on the task bar to go back to the game.

The way I do it is this: While in the game (already fullscreen mode) I hit B and remove all the UI. I then move the camera around and myself around and compose the picture I want to take. I then hit the PrintScreen key once. (That will keep it on your clipboard for as long as you want, as long as you don't copy anything else using printscreen/Ctrl C/Right-click copy, so you could leave it there until you logged out but chances are you will erase it by copying something else and forget you have it sitting there, so it's best to go and save it immediately. ) I then move my cursor up to the top RIGHT corner of the screen and a little '-' appears, if I click this the screen minimizes. You can also use the windows key to access your taskbar, but I prefer using the icon. It does not show to you until you hover over it, so don't look for it and think it's not there, move the mouse up there first and move it around right in the corner and it will show up, then click it and the game will minimize giving you access to your other programs.
I then open Microdsoft Paint which I have a permanent shortcut on my taskbar for, and in the new blank panel I look for and click the "paste" icon, which looks like a clipboard. You can also use 'CRTL V', but I just use the 'paste' icon. This will insert the copied image into the blank white window. (I know you can use any photo editing software to paste into, but Microsoft Paint is extremely basic and low resources, and it does the job perfectly.) I then click the little 'save' icon and save it as a png file (you can save it as jpg or whatever you want, usually people like jpgs because they are slightly smaller in file size, I always use png, they are a tiny bit better quality but no-one will ever notice but me,) and save to a destination you remember, like your desktop or a folder you always save your new images in.

Then when you send a ticket in or reply to one, use the attach icon/facility and locate the file you have just saved in the attach menu.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

For me, I usually do not do full screen because I want to show people what I want them to see instead of telling them to search a particular area from the big full screen image.

I always have a browser around and my current browser is 'Opera' (it does not matter which browser but Opera is supposed to be gamer's choice of browser). Since I also use Google app (such as gmail), I found that too much pain to bring up another program such as Paint. I bring up 'Keep' (an google app) in the browser and paste the image in a note. I can then organize which images I want to present later.

The way I take screen shot of anything (not limited to Neverwinter) is the following:
    I am using Windows 10.
    Win-key + Shift + s
    A white '+' will appear.
I can draw the rectangle to frame whatever I want to capture.
Then, paste (CTRL-V) to the google 'Keep' note.

You can paste (CTRL-V) to 'Paint' too.

I greatly appreciate all the time it took for your answers. I never knew I could minimalize the screen while playing NeverWinter. Thank you again. I use Opera myself Plasticbat, for years now.
