It's underrated that we can deeply customize our character's colors, transmog and everything. I'm so happy that my character can look so beautiful. There are also so many fun classes to play. Every character action is never a dull moment.
These 10 years, developers put in a lot of effort in new maps, mounts, updates. Everything is well thought out and nicely presented (for example the new balloon mount gave 3 types of rope swings). Community managers do twitch and text updates, escalate our feedbacks to the team, and delivered many things we asked for. Developers also put in huge amount of brain juice to design unique systems to keep us playing and entertained everyday. Above all of that, they also revisit old dungeons and add in new spice. For example the demo remake, the temple of spider remake, training room remake.
It has been a long trip since we first leave our training room.
Epic memories
- Crafted ring of darkness and ring of air
- Down a hard trial together with 9 other friends
- Kill a T3 summon and got ribcage armor drop
Fun memories
- In Liar of mad mage, boss is killed and cocoon exploded after, wiping the team.
- All 5 players horse around with the horse hat
- Every DPS is a rogue in vault of sands
- Every DPS is a control wizard in temple of spider
... and some painful grind memories.
- Killing the big spiders in mangobarazan.
- Hitting the 3 pedestrians with a car
- Replay campaigns all over again as an alt
"(endless grind) AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
For me, this was two things. First, it was the ultimate validation after months of work. Placing hundreds of Thayan wall sections and precisely angling them 15 degrees took an eternity, and then I had to involve lots of trigonometry when it came to dealing with tall walls and corners. I have a whole new appreciation for what it must take for the devs to create the environments that we all play in. It's difficult, exacting work.
Second, it felt amazing that I was able to create something that gave such enjoyment to other players. I was over the moon with the review, and I wonder if the devs still get that sort of feeling when they see how we all react to new campaigns.

Why not give some rewards for thoose who remained loyal and remained here in all these years?? Some title's or Achievement along some some special/unique item.
Some games where doing that, so I think it would not be much of trouble if cryptic team would do that too.

In no particular order:
- My first Castle Never completion (4 CWs and a GWF) had me drenched in sweat. Epic moment. Here's a video from the original fight (double Astral Shield ftw.): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzTSZXiUUVM
- The one and only Neverwinter Combat League. I'm a PVE guy, but really got into PVP and finished inside the top 40 for my class. Shoutout to all the legends that ranked: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter/news/detail/9357303
- The original Gauntlgrym was great. So much fun doing the PVP and then grinding the Dwarf King Crypt. Also a great early farming spot for T2 unbound gear. The dungeon will look familiar to newer player, because it has been reused multiple times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z93UrLNnhJw
- Temple of the Spider and Vault of Stars is really great group content in recent years. Hopefully the new dungeon in M26 will be equally nice and challenging. Not that fond of the trials outside LOMM and Zariel, but those two dungeons were a definite upgrade to earlier content. VoS HC was a great concept, and getting the Ring of Air was a great achievement for me. Fortunately I could use it long enough before it got nerfed.
- I'm not sure it was particularly "fun", but getting to the T3 Hunts in Chult definitely felt like a milestone. I did this for weeks back in the day when the trophies weren't guaranteed drops. This also burned me out completely and I just bought the Ribcage in M19 lol.
- Speaking of M19: Citadel was great for the hardcore PVE community. I know why it's not the best system in this game, but competing on a Leaderboard for unique rewards (hi Neverwinter Combat League) just adds extra motivation.
- The Maze Engine story was so well done and imho still unmatched today in terms of creativity and enjoyment. Sean McCann (Commander Ander) still the goat.
- Making my first major ADs by refining and reselling T7-T9 enchantments. It enabled me to buy the Heavy Inferno Nightmare Mount from the very first lockbox for 1M AD, which was a lot back then. Still a horse I'd like to go back to because I know I "earned it", although it only costs pennies nowadays. Same with the Angel of Protection. I did log in for 360 consecutive days because your HAMSTER Ardent Coins would otherwise disappear back in the day.
Funny stuff:
- Killing Valindra and Fulminorax from below during Mod 1 and 2. I'm still flabbergasted how people even figure out this stuff, but most is probably by accident.
- The struggle during Module 6 to complete ANY reworked dungeon was real. Shoutout to the berserks that managed to beat Cragmire Crypts.
- Module 11 debuff / power buffing meta. Sharp (per usual) was all over this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Arn7qUWqbRI
- Using High Vizier and High Prophet deep into Module 11 (or longer?).
- Scourge Warlocks burning Dragons in WoD due to an unintended damage loop, lagging out entire instances.
- The birth of private channels in Mod 5 because the devs thought it was a good idea to prevent people from premading the newest (and first ever) trial Rise of Tiamat.
- Realizing how much ADs people made with Masterworks was mind-boggling. I made a fortune just farming Explorer Charts, but people could actually make a decent living selling ADs on secondary markets for a little while. Crazy.
In mod 6, when nobody could clear dungeons in a normal way, people invented creative ways to get through them.
- TR walked within the wall to avoid enemy to open a door to allow the group through a short cut. This was a cheat and I did not learn how to walk within the wall.
- Aggro the mob to let them follow all the way back so that players could trigger dungeon traps to kill them.
- The whole group hide behind the water tank in Cragmire Crypts.
- The first time the guild completed Gray Wolf Den in mod 6. These were all veteran end game or close to end game players. We grouped up together to make the screen shot.
Yes, this might not look great. The time was tough. Half of the population were gone. But it was the time the comradeship mean something. Everybody needed to help each other. There was no single mighty character could run ahead. I still remember the guild leader commanded everyone to seek and kill the archers first every time. Otherwise, it would be a wipe.
Another example of incredible cameraderie was during Mod 8, which we typically call Underdark, but I call it Deadliest Catch. The entire server was seemingly camped at Drowned Shore killing the giant crab so we could get drowned weapons. You had to kill that crab ***ONE HUNDRED*** times to get those weapons. People would maintain respawn times for the crab across several instances, and when the person maintaining the list was going to log off, he/she would dutifully pass the list on to someone else. This went on 24/7 for weeks. Time of day didn't matter; there was always a group hunting the crab and someone maintaining the respawn list. So many people were hunting that crab that it would often melt in three seconds flat. It was borne of a real need for survivability in the wake of Mod 6, but it was also a thing of beauty to watch everyone (yes, pretty much the entire game population) working together. And when someone finally reached the 100 mark, congratulations never failed to stream in on zone chat. We were all in the same boat, and everyone was paddling.
To this day, all of my alts have drowned weapons. After what I had to go through to get them, the only way I'm giving them up is when I'm dead.

On the other hand, the crab HE was actually soloable (in later mod) but the Fiery Pit one cannot be. When enough 'big guy' drop to the pit, the HE will fail. One person cannot stop two of them rushing to the pit.
@hustin1 RIP the Foundry indeed. Should have made my list as well. I never finished an own quest, but starting as a farming spot for AD I really played many legit quests just for fun. They would even hand out a unique pet for quests that got featured back in the day. Yeah... that was a looooong time ago. Anybody legit earned the Book Imp?

Hi, I have been playing the game for a couple years and I have really grown fond of it. It's the perfect escape.
Some of my favorite memories are experiencing the content with friends and guildmates. For example, when I did the Master Temple of Spider. My group tried so hard and we had some difficulty for many days. Eventually we learned the mechanics and were able to overcome the dungeon. I never felt so accomplished. It was difficult to say the least but it felt rewarding to achieve an accomplishment that most had not been able to thus far at that point.
What I love most about Neverwinter? Well this is a long list but I'll try to keep it concise to just 2-3 things. First the combat. It's unique from any other mmo and it keeps you engaged. It feels smooth and powerful. Secondly, I really enjoy the events that go on within the game. They really help towards progress of your character and give you a reason to log in on the most mundane days. Last, I enjoyed the people I have met along the way. The community is wonderful and for the first time in my life I have made real connections with great people. I am truly thankful for that.
My wishes for the future of Neverwinter. 2 things mainly.
1. I wish the classes could be a bit more diverse in their builds. Maybe by having their encounters reworked because currently we only use a few for each class. Minus some niche cases. Also the same for the Class Feats. We have 5 to choose and some of them don't feel so great. Also I would like more feats in general. So that I can make my Fighter different from other fighters. I don't want to feel that I am a cookie cutter build the same as everyone else.
2. I would want another Module that has hunts like Avernus. Those Modules are so fun and give you something to really grind and its exciting to participate in that.
I look forward to all that you guys do. Best wishes to all.
When ppl can sell itens after using it, no bound stuff, and much rare to get a epic mount/companion coz there was no upgrading on then..
i miss it, miss my old guild Midnight express, miss pvp, miss gwf skills that got deleted, miss old way to calculate IL ( GS before ) and lot of players that quited after mod6.
I remember how much fun I had in the lairs in the adventure zones as a squishy ranger. It would take me forever to beat the boss. Shoot an arrow and run on repeat.
'Til this day I still can't forgive myself for outlevelling the Blacklake Terror skirmish and not getting the Hero of Blacklake title!
Farming, so much farming and frustrating rng. Black ice gear in Icewind Dale, drowned weapons in the Drowned Shore, companions and dyes in Call to Arms, the Journals in Tales of Old, rings in Vault of Stars, stars and lights in winter, petals and favors in summer, to name a few
The setting, lore, combat system and community is what kept me here although so much has changed. Positive changes, negative changes. A true neverwintan adventurer I'll always be.
A small change I'd implement is account wide reclaimable event rewards for the sake of us alt loving citizens.
What I love most about Neverwinter is community that has been made over the years. I have made so many friendships here I lost number count long time ago! People from all over the world come together to save the world and after long fights return being heroes and friends!
I wish Neverwinter to continue to release more dungeons and more dragons!
Cheers to 10 more amazing years!
