M26 Update on Pinatas (edited)

So with Module 26 Pinatas will be getting updated!
  • No longer will we be able to split the pinatas to negate the cooldown, however this cooldown is being reduced to 30s it will be lower than this with the next update, instead of 120s.
  • The Pinatas from the Summer Festival will now be the same as the Beholder Pinatas and only drop: 1 piece of event food This has been increased to 3 pieces of food, 1 piece of refinement and 1 piece of either: potion, alter or green/blue insignia.
  • The drop quality of the Beholder Pinatas is being increased by a lot. From quartz to blood rubies and the same loot table as Summer Festival Pinatas.
I believe there should be no cooldown at all on Pinatas. It is just a negative thing causing us to have to waste time waiting on it!
Well they are reducing it, so hopefully it's 10s or less.

The introduction of the different drops from the Summer festival Pinata is a pretty bad thing concerning event food as it will drastically reduce the amount of event food we can get. They used to drop 3 pieces of event food, not just 1. Please change this so either: they drop at least 3 event foods or that we can buy Pinatas which only drop event food! And Ideally we can buy a different Pinata that drops potions, alters and insignias! Not all in the same one!
There is coming a change that will make Pinatas drop 3 event food each, so that's a good improvement!

The update to the Beholder Pinatas is good, giving higher quality refinement and potions, but it still suffers from having a cooldown.

Got to agree no one is going to want less event food in favour of some refinement and insignia power or even the pres wards that can drop. Please leave the amount of event food the same or even just leave them alone altogether

30,000 piñatas and it will take 30 seconds for each opening, thats 15,000 minutes to open piñatas this year. Not sure if they realize the implication of adding a cooldown. Or maybe they do. But this at first glance seems kinda absurd.

Not worrying too much about the loot tables, we will adapt quickly to it.

Upgraded gems is nice because quartz is just trash, but only the newest of players don't have an abundance of refinement points.

Getting blue insignias is nice, but the amount needed is still so high that sacrificing event food is not worth it.

I think they needed to update these... however...
Changing the amount of event food is cheap...
Making it so we have to wait for the cool down is also cheap.
Those of us who figured out how to move them around our inventory to reset the timer saved us so much time in game!
I'd like a compromise to this:
2 guaranteed event food drops up from 1 and a 10 second timer rather than 30 if you're going to force us to wait for a timer.
Read the comments above me devs for the math, it's crazy.
  • So instead of updating the pinatas to make it better they decided to make it worst...
Who even comes up with these ideas?
Who even agrees to those ideas?
Do they even play the game?
    They should be fired asap

The game is already a small playerbase.. Make quality of life changes that players would appreciated rather than making it worst

There should definitely not be a cooldown on the piñatas or at least you should be able to split the cooldowns. 30 seconds cooldown will cause many more hours of annoying and boring waiting. Time we could better spend on actually playing the game.

Cooldowns on the pinatas are stupid and always have been stupid. All they do is make people frustrated and waste their time for no reason.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

This change is indeed quite infuriating, since Summer Festival has always been the primary source of Event food, which with an update like this it will no longer be. Please revert this change.

Honestly, this change is pretty much an outright killing blow to the summer event, and a critical hit at least to the entire game's current economic standing.

I've always done it for Sakha balls & pinatas - but doing it just for a small chance at something not even that good anymore, and pretty much worthless pinatas (As i definitely won't waste hours just to kill down an entire stack to get any value out of those) isn't gonna cut it.

After all the changes around character builds, paths & capping, event food is a staple of maxing out. Many players, including myself, use the event food non-stop, especially due to its effects not persisting through death. It's quite easy to die when you're a glass cannon, MToS has already seen people giddy up hundreds of thousands of AD for life scrolls. Asking for another hundreds of thousands for event food is just... disrespectful, at this point. Pathetic at best.

Unless there is an easier, just as convenient way to get unbound event food directly, the market will collapse into unbelievable sums noone will pay, thus another quite active market branch that removed a lot of AD (thanks to the 10% tax on trades) out of circulation will be gone. Considering how much AD <=> Zen exchange is currently "in debt", a small change like this one will have severe long-term effects on the entire game economy, furthering the claim many people currently stand by - AD are worthless; You either need a ton of those, or you'll get trash. The only way to actually do anything is to pay a substantial amount for ZEN you can't get for AD anymore - unless you're cool with freezing your assets for a year to get them exchanged. Why would you so severely weaken an already weak currency? Moreover, why would you cripple an economy branch that was doing just fine, and gave people a chance at tweaking out their finances in exchange for their time? Isn't that the backbone of F2P vs P2P dispute?

Butterfly effect in full scale. This change goes live - more players will leave. They're already tired by the mentioned ZEN exchange sinkhole, battle passes, and the entirety of endgame being a race of who can pay the most, who can get the best macros, and who can spend the most time & sanity on every minor thing needed. Now, you're planning to take away one of the most awaited activities of the year (Besides the winter event which is outdated as hell, and protector's jubilee which actually received some nice QoL changes, thus being the only event out of those that actually keeps up) which was an opportunity to earn currency by wisely spending time, get better, and have fun in the meantime - I'm actually very, very curious how many dozens of new activities you've planned for this summer event, as by taking the first two parts away, it's either get an actual metric ton of fun in, or people won't bother to show up.

I do sure hope someone from the dev team will take a look at this; It's a ridiculous idea, a true nail in the coffin, for many players the final one. Many already left, some are still leaving, and those changes are a perfect representation of why they're on their way. Give out a cookie, take away the entire buffet that was there for years, from people literally starved for opportunities to honestly earn their success. I wonder who could even think of coming up with that, when asked for something to change in the game.

Hold onto your Squash Soup, dear friends. Those won't get cheaper...

I mean who honestly does this. Well yeah nerf the drop rates whatever, but this hardcoded cooldown is just a show stopper for those farming the Summer Festival. Plus it's not that farming the Festival on 50+ toons and doing the Sahha balls is super fun. It's an insane grind that just lost a good chunk of its profit. Completely uncalled for.
