Workshop (professions) is a money pit!!

I can't believe how much it cost to make a few Major Power re-enforcements!! What I make from them doesn't even come close to what I spend to make them. What kind of gouging is that. I'm not having anything to do with professions anymore! It's ridiculous! They already make plenty of money. Now they want to draw down any AD and gold you've earned through constant grinding by gouging those of us who want to craft?!!? The costs for commissions when you craft items is way too much and charging 500,000 for level 3 and 5,000,000 for level 4 is absurd. It use to be you could make good gear through crafting (better than what you could get in game), It's not the case anymore from what I've seen. I don't even feel like playing anymore! It's not fun!

To make money on those you need to have workers in the profession that have -75 or a higher negative number for their commission. I forget how low you can get it but that is how you make money on them.

    Reduce commission costs.

    Dab Hand.

Craft because you need and not because you want to get rich selling them?

AD and gold are not real money.

I've made the same mistake of blowing huge amounts of AD on crafting reinforcements with the wrong artisan. It sucks, but life is about learning from mistakes.

The lowest commission cost an artisan can have is -75%. That will reduce the cost of a Major armor reinforcement to just over 31k. That's as good as it gets, and even then it's not a great way to make AD on the auction house. The general meta is to only craft reinforcements with a -75% artisan and only slot them in equipment you expect to be using for a while.

But also, plasticbat is correct; AD and gold are things that can be replaced fairly easily by just playing the game.

And you do not even have to do that as once you have enough rAD you can literally, if you want, just do nothing except sign on for a few seconds every day or if you are really lazy every other day for the automatic refining of 100K rAD.

Currently if I did do something like that it would take me about 300+ days to eliminate all rAD from my account.

My problem is I still like playing the game so my rAD is still going up. I have reduced by how much it goes up though by just dropping RADQ and RDQ but I still enjoy doing RTQ and the Skirmish one is fast so I still do them.

I craft items not so much to make any AD but to help guild members out. I don't charge them. I'm not trying to get rich on AD from crafting. Just helping others out. Unless you learn some of the things some of you mentioned, you can lose most if not all of your AD and gold.

Which is fairly easy to replenish.

take a break in ur scheduled crafts, craft to sell for gold, auction gold bars for AD; or make a gold bonus loadout n go for adventure in meantime

A gold bonus loadout works well... you can fill it up with things like insignia of prosperity, leprechaun companion and some +gold% gear, and then switch to it when turning in quests. You can even use the scroll of riches from the Winter festival. Some quests pay a lot... and with 200-300% bonus you can get more than 1 gold per quest.

Also, the wonders of Gond event gives mechanical altars. Use one a day for your last invoke and that can give anything from a few to over a hundred gold. Per day.

Wonders is a GREAT way to get gold. I made an average of 250 gold per toon by just opening the bags you get from the mechanical altars.
