We don't have access to anything that tells population directly, however if you were to look at different cross sections, you can get an idea. Forum posts, discord roles, and other places where the community gather show that PC has about the same population as both consoles combined and that XBOX and PS have roughly equal populations to each other. None of this ofc is exact nor a true representation of what players play on.
The main difference in the actual game on each platform is the UI, otherwise the games are pretty similar to each other.
I would have thought that there would be many more players on console than there are on a PC.
At peak times in England when a new mod comes out or a new event which people like [for example the last mod when it dropped] there were maybe 600 players online in the new zone. [This was at around 8pm local time in England].
I am away for a couple of days with no access to NW could someone check the instances/numbers for the latest mod area as it seemed very busy last night?
I usually have a look at how many PE instances there are to get a feel for how busy it is at any given time. You have to then factor-in other things going on elsewhere, but the PE zone instances generally give you the best idea of how healthy the game is.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

I know you have a fast connection to the server. For all these years, people I know do not stay in PE at all. We, slow connection people, have hard time to deal with its loading time. However, to count new players, PE probably is a good place.

I was asking because someone told me there were hardly any bugs on ps and thought that might be true for xbox as well. I am sure I will stick to pc though because I am use to it.

Consoles tend to be behind PC. Things are usually fixed by the time they pop on the consoles.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

I have been calling PC platform players the beta testers for consoles until recently. PC versions were released months before console's release until recently. There are/were bugs in console too but there were a lot more in the PC version. Console players got a better version in the past because of their wait time.

That really is a tiny amount compared to the BIG MMOs.
