random mouse freezes

drartwhodentdrartwhodent Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 301 Arc User
It doesn't seem to matter what I am doing.
Every now and then the mouse just freezes.
While traveling.
While fighting (really bad! caused more than one death while fighting dragons in the Siege).
While perusing my bank or the auction house.
I thought it might be my mouse battery being loose or something but I mentioned it in PE chat and found out that I am not the only one this is happening to.

    It happens only in Neverwinter?

Maybe is not the same but I had a similar issue long time ago, and after months, I discovered that it was my secondary HD going on suspension every 20 mins. I changed the configuration and the problem dissapeared.

    I hope it helps

Is it just the mouse? How about keyboard?
i.e. is the system kind of 'freezing' or just the mouse?
Could you bring up task manager to check memory consumption?
If the system is doing memory swapping (hitting the disk 100%), the system will look like it is freezing (including the mouse).

It is just the mouse, and it usually only lasts a second or two so would be difficult to check memory usage, but is very frustrating if fighting.
I do very little except play Neverwinter on that computer but have not noticed it happening when I do do other things on it.
As far as I know, there is only a single SSD on that computer.

Well, I don't use wireless mouse for the reason of a remote chance (regardless how tiny it is) there is hiccup of the connection be interfered by other signals, objects on the table, etc.

Looks like it is not just NW, just tried to run something else on that computer and had the same problem.
    Please disregard this thread.
Thank you to those that did try to help.

Wired is the way to go. It's reliable, plus it's healthier with no radiation emissions.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

I hate wireless mouse / keyboard, not only the battery can fail in the worst moment, there are lots of things that can produce peaks in latency that are frustrating if you like games where ping is relevant.
