Feral Velociraptor

Will we see a return of the Feral Velociraptor anytime soon? The rise in popularity of the Tamed Velociraptor make it potentially very beneficial for Tanks.

I personally would be willing to purchase it from the Zen Market if it were available.

Currently there's only one on auction for an absurd 19 million AD.

I have one on my main tank, which I bumped to mythic. The companion bonus doesn’t add stacks of +3.8% Awareness per Tamed Velociraptor being run in group. The way it works is this: Everyone running a raptor bonus gets Part of the Pack active. For everyone who is Part of the Pack, they get (#ofTamedVelociraptorBonusesinGroup * 3.8% Power) + (#ofFeralVelociraptorBonusesinGroup * 3.8% Awareness) added to stats. I doubt most DPS players, and possibly most healers, would want to run the Feral bonus.

I see, so you don't get 19% of both stats like the "Part of the Pack" reads.

Just 3.8% awareness, and 15.2% power.

This should be edited, so if you run feral you get full awareness and Tamed gives full power as long as everyone is part of the Pack.

I still think this should be brought back, but maybe fixed first.

My understanding is that the Tamed and Feral Raptor companion bonuses are working as intended, presently.

Feral Raptor Bonus: You are Part of the Pack. Everyone in your group who is Part of the Pack gains 3.8% Awareness. This may stack up to 5 times.

Tamed Raptor Bonus: You are Part of the Pack. Everyone in your group who is Part of the Pack gains 3.8% Power. This may stack up to 5 times.

Neither of these bonuses is written in a way that indicates the 1 Feral + 4 Tamed scenario should be anything other than +3.8% Awareness and +15.2% Power. They’re literally written to be a potluck type of bonus. Running a Raptor gives access to the potluck. Your contribution to the pot is determined by which Raptor bonus you run.

Unlike most other extant potluck style bonuses (Masterwork weapons and the like), you have to opt-in to said potluck to get the bonus and there are two flavors/ingredients to choose between for your contribution to the pot. Even some of the depricated potluck bonuses (old Stronghold Group Boon comes to mind) didn’t provide flavor/ingredient choice to the bonus, even if they did require opt-in to access the bonus. That’s the reason it takes a minute to make sense of this one.

I understand, but this makes the Feral mostly worthless as no DPS or Healer is willing to waste a companion bonus for awareness, but Tanks are expected to run Tamed to boost everyone's power.

I was hoping to keep the DPS and Healers powered while boosting Tanks survivability.

I think it would help run pretty much all party content more smoothly, as new/lower gear players sometimes struggle until they can gear up and even at epic the raptors can add decent stats.

DPS and Healers can pretty easily cap most of their offensive stats, but Tanks are lucky if they can cap even a couple of the defensive stats.

Thinking of adding flavor though, they could add more raptors with "Part of the Pack" that offer a variety of stats, that would add a lot of depth to how players can choose which stats to boost.

Though everyone would just use raptors in every spot so maybe not.
