When you create a new character the new north underdark lighting scheme makes everything too dark. You cannot see color, morphological adjustments or details. Need to revert character creation to the standard lighting system.
Wow that's bad. The lighting's all over the place. Remember the vault of the nine, the one where u run past all the skulls and fight to get your first arti, it used to be pitch black and very unique. Was quite the challenge. Then they made it all bright and lit, took out all the darkness and in my humble opinion totally ruined it, I guessed they no longer approved of things being so dark as a matter of principle. Was a shame they ruined the whole thing like that, it really used to feel like you EARNED that arti and it was a huge achievement and big milestone. Now, meh. Anyway, the new tower quest in Northdark Reaches is so dark you can hardly see where you're going. So apparently a map being very dark is no longer an issue. Make it make sense. And then again the new depths quest (in the recycled Undermountain ME map) is almost totally unlit and very bright and doesn't match anything else in the mod lighting-wise.
edit: vault of the nine is the lizards and not dark, i'm getting the name wrong, but it's the quest where u had to go past all the laughing skulls to the small areas one after the other and fight in each area, i'm half asleep right now can't remember the name of it. it was a major achievement to complete at any rate due to how dark it was.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.
Simply clicking the "Use Sliders" option did not initially fix the lighting issue for the character creation screens. However, once I had selected the Sliders, and then clicked on either Dynamic Lighting radio button, and clicked Apply, the lighting changed and the character creation screens were not shrouded in shadow.
