Binding Mastery Challenge - 2022.

azghabanazghaban Member Posts: 11 Arc User
I've tried this challenge 4 times. I'm using a lv20, 56k i-level, assassin rogue. Buffed up Power & Accuracy. Hit the die with everything I had including mount & artifact powers each time, & daily in 1 of those too. I've not yet succeeded. I've also watched at least 3 other players fail at this challenge: one of them more several times. Even a Ranger who had a go (including using slow-down attacks) didn't succeed.

What am I doing wrong? What should I do differently?

    Control it.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

As greywnd said, it is about control and not about hack and slash. I am using a barbarian which more or less has no control .... Obviously, it does not work well for me. After one failure, I changed the power to use "Not so fast". And it is done.

Rogue should be easier than barbarian. Smoke bomb, Dazing strike, Deft strike, courage breaker,

In the early day of the game, control was pretty much needed. Control wizard (now is just 'wizard') was the king (for control). In some dungeon incidence without a Control Wizard, I used my TR to do 'limited' control.

As a Paladin, all I did was pin it to the start wall with my shield while moving as needed to stay directly in front of it.

I did that with my rogue, for me none of my actual control abilities seemed to work at all. What did work without the use of any other abilities was one use of an old artifact called "Token of Chromatic Storm" (the ice one freezes it for 3 seconds) and the use of the mount power vortex of despair from the new mount or vortex from the flying carpet which allowed the timer to run out just before it got to the end.

Just for heck of it, I send my rogue to check it out. I used smoke bomb, Deft Strike and Dazing strike but I failed few times with 1 second left. Finally, to cover that one second, I used the mount power, Divine Intervention, to do knock back to complete it.

OK - I did have another go. Changed Daily to Hateful Knives, main at-will to Daze, put Staff of Life as artifact, had Cockatrice as companion, and already had Bats for the mount combat ability, hoping that the slowing effects of each would be enough. And, sure enough, they were - just. Die got nearly to end of run. Tried it again & it worked again. Thanks for the advice folks.

I ran it on a 64k Cleric with a heal loadout by mistake and just stood in front of the die and hit it with my one at will attack until I completed the challenge.

That isn't much help I guess as to me it was just soooo easy that I couldn't actually work out what the challenge was as the die didn't seem to move much at all.
