Clicked on the Astral lockbox advert & saw that. According to the post here: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter/news/detail/11510483-astral-lockbox-&-15%-off-wondrous-bazaar!, they do not require a key. So why are they promoting keys for an already unlocked box?

The Astral Lockbox has been misnamed since its first appearance. It is a loot box, that requires purchase with AD and not your cash at all. Non-VIP members pay 100,000 in the AD store, VIP members get them for 75,000. If the AD store has a sale or discount they are even cheaper. During their random appearances you can also find them for sale in the Auction House.

They don't go to any extremes to advertise or keep them around more than 1 week at a time. Cryptic makes no money from them, they are an AD sink. The only way Cryptic would cash in on them, would be for you to buy Zen and convert it to AD. Some players refuse to buy them after YouTubers showed 10,000 opened and they didn't get more than what they paid in to buy them. These are people not looking to use the items but resell them for profit.

The keys they sell are for the lockboxes you find on the ground for free, depending on coupons or discounts you pay between $1 to 25 cents per key. It doesn't surprise me they share the graphic template, some new trainee probably didn't remove the dialog.

Two entirely different things same game.

I know how the boxes work. Not my first rodeo & your reply doesn't answer my question. Why are they pushing keys for an already opened lockbox?

The wording is deceptive. Purchase a key to open "Astral Lockbox".

The key purchase option shouldn't even be on that specific advertisement.

Because they do a lot of cut-and-paste without any editorial oversight.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

Is it a typo if they don't know they're spelling it wrong?

The thing in front of you is called a keyboard, it has buttons with letters on it. It is used to type messages which are send by electric impulses through a wire into your PC.

Obviously I am not only addressing you in the thread, there are several new people in the game. Not many of the older crowd remains here. Many of the new people have accents. I was attempting to be a completionist. Unlike others who will remain nameless to protect their identity, such as the guy above me, king of the one liners. See how I didn't name him? I don't think you fully read my response, especially the part where I blamed the unpaid interns.
