Unable to change appearance

My other characters can make and save appearance changes but my Barbarian cannot.
Just to be clear:
Over the period of four days - five if you count this morning - I've logged in and out, closed the game and restarted the game, turned off the computer and restarted the computer and have changed characters multiple times.
All my other characters have donned the Lunar Fashion, but my barbarian is unable to even remove the fashion set he's wearing, let alone change it to a free set.
Yes, I know how to change my appearance items, yes the game has been reset to different degrees.
Also note: for some reason the game wants me to pay to remove my appearance gear?
I have nine characters.
I have changed appearance items on them many times since the beginning of being able to change appearance items.
I have items that are free to change appearance, such as the Happy Tiger Fashion set and I have many items that cost AD to change.
I have many dyes unlocked and understand that some dyes require gold to change.
I can change the appearance on eight of my nine characters.
My Barbarian has some stuck problem with thinking that I need both AD and Gold to change his appearance, even if the change is to remove ALL dyes and All gear.
This problem started with the dropping of the Feast of Lanterns event.
I believe that someone is going to need to actually look closer at that character to see the issue.
I'd love to demonstrate the issue, if someone with the correct tools could be on hand to observe the issue in progress.
Or maybe some dev can use their stronger tools to open up the character's account and port him over to a dev specific test environment.

Never occurred to me to resort to the [Apply to All Loadouts] trick.
