WORKSHOP - WHAT'S THE POINT?

Is there really any benefit to putting all the time and energy and gold and AD into building and levelling up the workshop? Even with all my artisans and trades maxxed out, I can't make anything that really benefits my characters. My characters are much further advanced than the potions and gear I can create. Sure I can sell stuff to merchants, but the value of the stuff I can sell is much less than all the resources I poured into making the stuff just to level up.

Can someone enlighten me why I should invest in the workshop?

Thanks!

Preparation and get ready when the new Masterwork drops. Usually, only those who are ready can gain the most benefit. In the meanwhile, there are stuff you can make and sell for profit. Sure, nobody would want to tell you what they are because nobody wants more competition to drive down profit.

Should you invest to it? That would be your decision. If you have not done Masterwork, you have invested very little.
FYI, I am still leveling my 20th workshop and the other 19 workshops are making things daily.

Its been months since they removed the new Sharandar masterworks from consoles and have never put them pack., PC has had this update for a long time but consoles and it seems we can never get an answer about when this will be available on consoles even though there have been many question in the forums.

As far as I know, PC does not have Sharandar masterwork.

I had a shop on PC and on Playstation.

I was working my way through the Level 1 and 2 Masterworks on Playstation, and I had just gotten to Chult on the PC and begun speaking with the folks there.

After the changes, I lost virtually all of my progress on both, and if I have a path forward on either platform, the game isn't showing me the way. I haven't done a thing with my Masterworks in...it's been months, now, hasn't it?

I really was enjoying my shops, too. Both of them got wiped out overnight.

I mainly make Level 20 gear now and sell it for a pittance.

It's like having a sports car that I only use to get groceries.

All the materials are gone for stronghold decorations. Why?
You’re not updating the Stongholds anytime soon, why take away one of the few cool parts? Guild is asked for a piece and sure I could make it, if I still had the mats for it.
Sucking all the fun right out.

From the latest dev Q and A....

Is there any update regarding professions, and when will the Sharandar recipes be available?

The team already did some small changes, but the profession system is internally very complex. We will continue to work on masterwork professions in the near future and we will also start looking at what we can do to sort or update the current profession recipes as well, but there will unfortunately be no significant change for the next expansion.

    - To me this is BS. I have 9 lvl 4 workshops. Crafting is (was) a large part of my game. See you when you get it fixed NW.

They are really HAMSTER up on workshops. I am not close to a master workshop but like Joed here it was something I enjoyed, I pushed and pushed to get my workshop leveled up so I could get to tier 3 and then worked and worked to get it paid off. Since I have had level 3 tier of the workshop nothing new was added I could make, a little disappointing but this is the worst. I didn't know the artisans should have -commission. So most of mine said 50+ or more because I thought that was best. After the upgrade-making the same stuff-it started charging me to much to even be able to finish off 400 morales-I would run out of money and I had 900 in gold when the third tier appeared. I found out artisans should have -commission. So I switched them all as fast as I could to -commision. It still costs more than I can afford, jewelry on the tradebar auction works somewhat. But since the tier upgrade my disappears in quests, when I run over money It goes down 40-80 schillings and eventually I have less gold. Why would anyone pay and work to get to tier 3 to make nothing new, get charged a whole lot more to craft anything, and then get rude answers from support and even some of the people on the forum when you ask for help. That makes no sense to me.

I am guessing that the programmer/devs that worked on the Mod15 changes are either all gone or are working on other games. When the new producer said the system was “very complex”, I read that to mean..we can’t figure out the code and have no resources to update it. They are too busy trying to figure out how to add the pack on the zen market to make you want to spend more zen.

Just to clear out this one issue you reported.

Please tell us the name of the one item you make "before and after" workshop level 3. Use a commission 0% artisan (or make sure the artisan slot is empty) and tell us the commission cost you see right now.

I can check the price of that item using workshop level 1,2,3,4 for you.

I get charged the full commision no matter what their commission rating is. On preview today I wanted to see how the workshop worked there. Tier 3 went there. My money didn't disappear on a quest, but was charged the full commision at the workshop. Like the brass bar was 6 shillings and the arisan said -75 which should have made the commison like 2 but it didn't. But I wasn't charged anything for a full delivery box. I miss ordering and trying new things.

You are not charged the full commission regardless the commission rating is.
Pick one item. Write down the commission cost from the screen. Put in an artisan, write down the commission cost from the screen. Put in an artisan with a different commission, write down the commission cost from the screen. Compare these 3 numbers.

I don't know what a brass bar is. I assume you mean brass ingot.
If I don't put an artisan, I see 1 silver and 84 copper (from the screen). i.e. the full price is 1 silver and 84 copper.
If I put a -50% commission, I see 92 copper (from the screen).
If I put a -75% commission, I see 46 copper (from the screen).
If I put a +25% commission, I see 2 silver and 30 copper (from the screen).

    Same result from a level 1, level 3 and level 4 workshops. I don't have a level 2 workshop.
