Is there really any benefit to putting all the time and energy and gold and AD into building and levelling up the workshop? Even with all my artisans and trades maxxed out, I can't make anything that really benefits my characters. My characters are much further advanced than the potions and gear I can create. Sure I can sell stuff to merchants, but the value of the stuff I can sell is much less than all the resources I poured into making the stuff just to level up.
Can someone enlighten me why I should invest in the workshop?
Thanks!

Should you invest to it? That would be your decision. If you have not done Masterwork, you have invested very little.
FYI, I am still leveling my 20th workshop and the other 19 workshops are making things daily.
I was working my way through the Level 1 and 2 Masterworks on Playstation, and I had just gotten to Chult on the PC and begun speaking with the folks there.
After the changes, I lost virtually all of my progress on both, and if I have a path forward on either platform, the game isn't showing me the way. I haven't done a thing with my Masterworks in...it's been months, now, hasn't it?
I really was enjoying my shops, too. Both of them got wiped out overnight.
I mainly make Level 20 gear now and sell it for a pittance.
It's like having a sports car that I only use to get groceries.
You’re not updating the Stongholds anytime soon, why take away one of the few cool parts? Guild is asked for a piece and sure I could make it, if I still had the mats for it.
Sucking all the fun right out.
Is there any update regarding professions, and when will the Sharandar recipes be available?
The team already did some small changes, but the profession system is internally very complex. We will continue to work on masterwork professions in the near future and we will also start looking at what we can do to sort or update the current profession recipes as well, but there will unfortunately be no significant change for the next expansion.
- To me this is BS. I have 9 lvl 4 workshops. Crafting is (was) a large part of my game. See you when you get it fixed NW.
Please tell us the name of the one item you make "before and after" workshop level 3. Use a commission 0% artisan (or make sure the artisan slot is empty) and tell us the commission cost you see right now.
I can check the price of that item using workshop level 1,2,3,4 for you.
Pick one item. Write down the commission cost from the screen. Put in an artisan, write down the commission cost from the screen. Put in an artisan with a different commission, write down the commission cost from the screen. Compare these 3 numbers.
I don't know what a brass bar is. I assume you mean brass ingot.
If I don't put an artisan, I see 1 silver and 84 copper (from the screen). i.e. the full price is 1 silver and 84 copper.
If I put a -50% commission, I see 92 copper (from the screen).
If I put a -75% commission, I see 46 copper (from the screen).
If I put a +25% commission, I see 2 silver and 30 copper (from the screen).
Same result from a level 1, level 3 and level 4 workshops. I don't have a level 2 workshop.
