Hello, I just want to ask the community if SW Ranger is low DPS, or maybe it's just me. I hear HR got some nice DPS perks a few patches ago, so I'm wondering did SW get perked up too, or did Cryptic passed over them? Please let me know. Thanks.
Yeah - Warden is a bit lower in dmg - Hunter's good - but maybe takes more know-how and dmg increasing combo sequences - like maybe commanding shot + other shots - or the artifact fav disruptive (on daily damage boost) - and some feats.
The warden feats are good - but fall short
Also noted something else: requires more stats to reach higher damage rates when compared to other classes - like maybe it requires 80% crit sev or crit strike while the fighter doesn't need that much to get similar damage rates - like the class requires a very high stat range to be effective

Stormwarden is good dps, it's just that Hunter is better. It's a bit like asking someone if they prefer $10 or $9. The $9 is good, but $10 is even better and thus you'll see way more of it.
Consider it this way: When you need to fight a lot of mobs you go with the Storm warden and when it is essentially a single target affair you should be using the hunter side because that to me appears to be better designed for that type of combat.
In my view the storm warden should be doing less damage than a melee type DPS or the hunter side because of the greater selection of ranged AoE powers that they have.
Well, since the interface redesign of Mod 16 (yes, that long ago) the melee tooltips have been rather 'hidden' for any new player to decipher. When choosing powers all that is displayed in the Powers Tab are ranged encounter powers and unless one consults some external source remembering which one does what takes 'guidance' from outside the game. I'd be happy if the devs would just take the time to fix the interface when they create something requiring a modal display.
Hunter seems most effective with artifacts equipped that provide a boost to refresh rate (like the Dragon series), until those are leveled up, the true potential of the hunter is not really there.
