Bag space being used up by duplicate items and developer caused issues

inyawayupdeepinyawayupdeep Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 206 Arc User
I'm calling this a bug because it has come to light due to changes made to event food stats being changed, but It's been a problem for a long time. You've used up too much of our bag space to mess with our food item stats making us have room for both, we can't stack the old with the new and its taking up our space, also I've noticed some general sloppiness concerning how wards stack or don't stack, they come bound to character, account and also unbound but for some reason I have stacks that have the same type of bind applied but cant be stacked together so I have four or five different stack types of coalescent wards and preservation wards some of the unbound ones won't stack also. The daily VIP rewards and invocation rewards should all stack. I consider this a bug, it shouldn't work like this and needs to be fixed fairly. If you cant fix it by making them take less space then you should give us more space maybe another bag. Thankyou

They want you to buy bag. It has been like this for ages. There have been enough people complained about that. So, it is not they don't know about it but they really want you to buy bag or find your own way to manage your inventory. Most Veterans established their own style of inventory management already.

Trust me friend I am a veteran player, and I've bought bags and bank space, shared and personal. I'm just trying to bring to their attention that they need to stop doing this and if they don't they need to make it right by awarding space to compensate. After years of this, I think we can all agree it's ridiculous.

Well, it does not bother me at all. May be I just get used to it. Or, I really don't have space issue. I have a mule toon dedicated just to store account bound, unbound food item. 5 more new duplicated type just another stacks of my dozens stacks.

yeah I also have several storage toons, it's just a quality of life issue that needs to be addressed, the game needs to be fun for the players not sloppy mess that needs you to buy items to continue playing unimpeded. I'm like you I get used to it, but we shouldn't have to and every once in a while it gets under my skin to the point I need to say something.

This 'change' does not change my usual operation for this event. I put all the unbound food of all my toon to the shared bank (my intermedia storage hub for stacking them up) and then once a while, move them all to the storage toon (the final storage place). That really does not matter if the food is the same as before or different from before. My operation is not altered as the same as last year and the year before ...
I 'solved' my quality of life regarding storage long time ago.

Again a quality of life issue that needs to be addressed not ignored, you have a system of coping that works for you and that is good and worth sharing with others, but others don't have alts, and shouldn't be obligated to create them especially when you only get a few free ones to start with.

It is not about being ignored or not because they did that "intentionally" many times. You can ask/beg them to change that. However, as far as my experience of Cryptic goes, they will keep on doing that more and more.

This is why they won't fix it or do anything about it. Bags, along with keys and VIP are imo their biggest money makers. I know you know this already @inyawayupdeep because you've been around long enough, but they have always pushed people to need more space on purpose and made it a premium need by forcing you to have things in your bags which just clog it up so you panic or have a headache and just relent and get bigger bags or buy bank spaces. They won't want that to change. If they wanted to at least partially make it better for players they would have it so that many items related specifically to doing quests were stored in a separate section as keys are and not have them sitting them along with your usual items. The amount of items which fell out of those boxes when this mod rolled-out had me doing backflips trying to make space to get them out of overflow, I feel that this was at least partly on purpose.

If they want to ease the inventory issue, one of the simple things that I suggested in epoch time was to allow everything to stack to 999.

There are so many little things they could do to make this better, stacking is a big problem I agree anything that can be stacked should be stacked to at least 999 maybe even higher. Having ten different treasure maps that wouldn't stack together along with all the garbage needed to make hunts was beyond ridiculous a person needed an entire bag, a large one, to hold all that stuff. If you are going to make us carry a ton of items give us the room to do it. Every potion and crafting component seems to have +1 variety that needs it's own space, and because often the +1 result won't work to advance master crafting, you need to carry both varieties, it makes no sense at all but that will have to be a rant for another day :)

For whatever it worth, mod 21 does give every character a 42 slot improved bag of holding for free as long as you finish Vellosk.
