Malar Hexers in Wyllowwood are grossly overpowered

They heal themselves **nonstop**. Every second they cast a heal. It's ten times as hard to kill one of those as it is to kill Arcturia. If you're playing a lower-dps build like a healer cleric, they're nearly impossible to kill because they can heal faster than you can do damage.

why aren't you running an arbiter build for soloing..? An arbiter drops them in seconds

Are you suggesting that Devout was never intended to be viable for solo play?

Healer and also tank spec seems got a hard time after combat rework, so yeah. Maybe not intended but that is what happens right now. It's just too much effort to do solo stuff. People will say why would you do solo thing as a healer and/or tank, but sometimes they just forget, this is RPG and some people just want to play as that role, because they like it.

Yes. Devout is a support path - meant to support DPS players. Whilst you 'can' make it viable for solo content, it isn't optimised for it so it would be expensive and unnecessary as all you need to do is switch paragons to arbiter for a 10% base dps boost plus a lot more power.

Warlock, Fighter & Barbarian also have support paragons but you never see players using them for solo content.

The Paladin is the only support class that doesn't have this option.

Clerics don't even need 2 sets of gear (unlike Pallies) My Cleric solos an arbiter build whilst wearing healing gear as it does just fine. I would only invest in dps gear if I intended to run group content as a dps. But as queues pop very fast as healer, I never bother.

Think of it as an assault/combat team that brings a medic along with them - they wouldn't expect the medic to go ahead of them and take on the enemies!

    Quoted for truth. Great post.

My Cleric healer does just fine healing group content with their current stuff at 49k item level.

When I switch to DPS to solo, its all ok mostly. But in group content my DPS is way down on other classes as my equipment isn't DPS - way too expensive and time consuming to get DPS stuff.
