HUMAN TANK WARRIOR

Hi, I have a 51st level human tank warrior. Due to the new patch at the beginning of the year, I'm having a little trouble getting it to grow. Can you suggest some low-cost tools, weapon for me, companion (energon) or mount (purchase through astral diamonds) that can help me increase ILV?
Thank you

Join a Level 20 guild. If it is a good guild, they will provide you with all the knowledge necessary to grow your character.

Do you have any other tips?

What about DPS layout... ?!?! When i started to play this game i didn't know anything about layouts. Human tank warrior (fighter ?!?!) was hard to progress even before this changes.

For now i suggest chose only one paragon on progres tank or fighter dps, yea for solo content you can use dps lodout, but remember on diferent lodout toy need diferent pasive comp whuu are exspensive ;3

Fighter is a difficult class to gear up with the new changes but I would disagree on one point from above - you need to pay as much attention to your tank build as your dps as you'll probably want to run the easy dungeons for AD.

Unfortunately this means having two sets of gear (mark both as protected!) one that focuses on power/crit/combat advantage and the other that focuses on defence/awareness/critical avoidance.

As you are under L80 it's probably easier to buy cheap appropriate gear from the auction house every few levels so you'd definitely need the AD steadily coming in.

The game has shifted to a much heavier focus on companions and mounts now with their equip bonuses being very important. Here is a link to Rainers Pocket Wiki which will give you all the info you need on what each one provides:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15LyLdI1LphLlrvkK08OxZH5u415OtJwBdRdkYawXwOE/edit?usp=sharing

Just to check (as it wasn't mentioned above) you know about loadouts right? Where you can switch between your tank and dps classes?

Regarding your last question, if with LOADOUTS you are referring to the possibility of changing equipment by modifying the window at the top left (the one where you choose a new set up of your character), then yes. But at the moment I only have one character and I don't grow 2 in parallel specializing them in single characteristics (TANK or DPS). My aim is to be able to start playing individually with a balanced character again. So I wanted some suggestions on something to buy.

Ok, so I will assume you are playing purely as dps/dreadnaught? If that's correct (and it should be for all solo game play) then it's not so much about the gear per se at your current stage - it's about what stats the gear has and you'll be swapping that gear every few levels until you reach L80.

You will want to have items with power/crit/crit severity/combat advantage - as these will boost your damage output.

For general IL boosts, you will need to accumulate companions and mounts as these add to your TIL. The 10 best ranked comps & mounts are added to your TIL. For now you can add any old free or cheap ones for a quick boost but the ones worth spending serious AD on are ones that give you the equip bonuses that boost your stats in the areas you need.

I'm not going to list them out as there are too many - all of that info is on the link I provided previously.

My advice is to go for the DPS build. This game hates tanks and we get zero love.

The time to kill ratio on tank is very bad. Choose your DPS for solo play. You will be faster and receive less damage because your enemies are faster dead. I know it is hard to understand but it is what it is.

Thanks for the tips. With the creation of my character in the DPS version I was able to progress in solitary missions reaching the 80th level. Missions now no longer provide you with good items as they are all low level (lower than equipped). Do you have an idea of some items to buy at auction that may cost little? Or should I start using refinement to level up my gear?

If you've reached level 80, you need to get yourself out to Avernus. At a minimum, do the quest from the cartographer to start getting treasure maps. Run over the Manes in the Wasteland, they have a chance to drop the maps. When you dig up the treasure, there is a chance to obtain item level 1225 gear, as well as the main/offhand Legion Guard set. It is easy to do, and most of the treasure locations can be reached without having to fight anything. Next, kill Garyx and Mog'Dorath for rings. Also, run Master Expeditions to earn Coalesced Magics to buy neck/belt/artifact sets. For mounts and companions, insurgencies in Vallenhas are your friend; each one you complete will reward you with 100 Chaotic Writings (so will the Vallenhas weekly quests). Trade those in to Juma (he's in a cage around the right side of the Vallenhas main hall) for Juma bags, which can also give you 1225 gear, in addition to mounts and companions - including epics. No need to spend serious amounts of AD for level 80 gear, apart from a few artifacts that can't be easily acquired with campaign currency.

Path of the Fallen (Avernus) campaign is now a required IL of 30K so I think you might have to do the Descent into Avernus (Vallenhas) Campaign first to get the IL needed to go there. I know my Mod 16 alt had only a 28K IL until I purchased a few mythical account wide mounts using the AD I got from my Bondings which was enough to increase my IL by an additional 3K because of the powers I equipped from those mounts.
  • juleadreamjuleadream Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 372 Arc User
Yeah, they need to do away with item level requirements for anything outside of dungeons and trials. If you're a fresh level 80, with only about 18k item level, and you want to go to Sharandar, have at it. It's your funeral.

It depends on your current stats and capability. You should definitely do Descent first for gear from juma bags but even before that, have you been running the master expeditions (me) from the yawning portal? This gives you other gear including companion stuff.

Run with a group that are doing one rune (they'll be shouting "1 rune me x 3" or similar) as you get gear not only from drops but also the quest giver and the chest gives something you can trade with the little guy under the stairs in YP. You also earn coalesced magic which you can buy artifacts with in the undermountain campaign store.

For weapons, I'm not sure what's best for you as you're running a Fighter so I'm going to tag @wilbur626 as he knows your class better.

Make sure to keep the weapon set you get in the very start of the Undermountain questline! Many ignore this set, but its defensive stat set bonus is very nice for tanks and is viable for all content.

Try to get double defense slot companion gear, Barkhide chestpiece and Ebonized pants by running Master/Warden expeditions like @armadeonx suggested.

ok guys, maybe the fact that I said I got to level 80 made you think I also had such a broad command of the game. Unfortunately this is not the case: - (
When you talk about all these countryside and "cool" places to explore .. where can I find them?

Tank will have a hard time to level up if you doing the quest normally, it's just takes too much time to kill stuff. Since you already level 51 just queue to random dungeon, while trying do some quest. That is much more reliable source of exp and exchange all seals you got in to AD from the seal vendor.

    For starting gear:

    1. Companion, yeah companion is also considered as gear, before you got some experience, just get any Epic companion below 100 k AD on Auction House, that will boost your item level and stats, and equip tem on companion power tab.

    2. Buy 3 green / blue COMPANION GEAR with 900+ item level and equip them.

    3. An Epic Mount will be your next target. Just try to get 1 atleast, and equip their 2 power slot, both will give you 700+ x 2 item level.

With this setup once you reach level 80 and get your Avernus gear from maps (You can google this, there so many guides on youtube about getting avernus gear) you can reach atleas 25k Item Level and start que for random Epic and Trial to get more AD.

In the campaign Undermountain, you get to the town called Yawning Portal near the beginning. Once you've reached near the end of that campaign you are given a repeatable mission called Master Expeditions - you can run it 3 times every day. Running this mission earns you Coalesced Magic which you can spend in the Undermountain Campaign Store. You also get a piece of random gear from the quest giver at the end of each of the runs - you then pick up the mission again for the second or third run.

If you run it with someone who has a special rune (that is placed at the start of the run) it makes it harder but you get an extra reward from the chest at the end of the dungeon - this reward can be exchanged for random gear in Yawning Portal - there is a small npc under the stairs, he gives it to you.

Undermountain is a nice campaign to run as you can go at your own speed and it gives you boons, AD prizes and the weapons that Wilbur talked about. It was designed as a levelling campaign to get you from L70 to L80.

I don't know how but I managed to access the undermountain campaign. They provided me with a series of fantastic equipment that allowed me to make an important growth in terms of dps and IL. I hope that this equipment will remain with me even after the campaign.
I found out what you meant by Avernus. That type of campaign is still very far from my possibilities considering that I am still at the first step of the 26 level campaign (I don't remember the name).

If you can manage Undermountain at the moment, I'd advise you mostly focus your efforts there as you'll find it to be the most rewarding - especially once you get to the end and can run the master expeditions.

The gear from here will enable you to handle Avernus Descent, where you'll be able to get a couple of extra items that are very useful.

Also, keep an eye on the seals vendor as some of the Fallen seals can get you better things like shirts and pants.

Avernus starts with the quest "House in Needs" from Knox at Protector Enclave.

Dont worry about Item level there, you will be automatically scaled up to 30k iLevel. To get the gear (Forasaken armors set and Legion weapon set) you dont have to fight to much to get them anyway, because you will be using somekind of car.

thanks for the valuable advice; for now, in the undermountain campain, I have managed to return to the Moon Mask Inn where I received an 80th mission from the innkeeper. For now I have opted to finish all the 70th missions to leave only the 80th ones.

As for Averuns, as I said, I still have to complete the first level 26 campaign; I therefore fear that months will pass before I can get there.

There's no rush, the game is more of a marathon than a sprint - just enjoy your time. Especially the old areas, some of them have interesting hidden spots that they don't seem to bother with these days.

Its not that I want to rush you, but you only need to go there to get the armor and weapon, all of them can be acquired within 2 or 3 hour. You dont have to do the campaign. I dont know when Cryptyc will decide to disable the auto scale for people below 30k.

Getting avernus armor and gear first then do the old campaign is a good idea, and also with that is much easier to reach 25k Item Leve for new player to start queue random trial and epic dungeon to get more AD

that lvl 26 campaign that youre talking about has nothing to do with Avernus :) This is Tyranny of Dragons campaign, which is very fun, but it doesnt stop your progress in other zones.
