Remove VIP signpost in dungeons

xenocide#6119 xenocide Member Posts: 251 Arc User
Players are abusing their VIP privileges when they get a REQ that they dont like.
Using their signpost to leave so they can avoid the leaver penalty. forcing the rest of the group to run a dungeon with 4 players only to get roadblocked by a checkpoint that requires you to gather your party.

I know VIP players are not going to like this idea, but its being severly abused and needs to be looked at.
Why do you need a signpost in a dungeon? This feature should be locked, 100%!

Well, it has practical uses such as someone going to buy injury kits, potions, overloads, food, etc. Also, I frequently use it after a dungeon to go to a map different from where I was before entering the dungeon.

I do agree it can be a problem.

Instead of disabling it, just treat it the same way that using character select was dealt with. If you are in an active public queued instance, leaving the instance removes you from the queue group. If that would normally grant a leaver penalty, then it would do so by leaving as well. Using it after an instance is completed wouldn't be penalized.

I agree. The problem is not the VIP sigpost. It is a feature. If someone uses one to leave, treat that as leave. For the reason of buying supply, one should have prepared before entering the dungeon. If buying health potion, injury kit is considered as "essential" for junior players, add that extra vendor to VIP. One can always keep a stack in shared bank, mail, etc as emergency backup just in case it ran out from the inventory.

Simply signposting out of the dungeon does not means they get away scot-free. Someone has to kick them from the group to avoid the penalty. The way I look at it is when people do this, they are saying they don't mind being kicked. If I don't want to do the run also, I'll kick them when I am able to and leave myself. If I do want to do the run, I'll wait till we get to the next gate so that person has to wait also.

Or they can buy Aurora's Catalog just for that purpose.

Yes, I thought of that too but it will take 3 minutes cooldown (I assume nobody in the right mind would upgrade that to mythic) before putting back the 'original' one. In short, it is not exactly practical. I admit I did choose that one for free for my first character in the game for that exact purpose in mod 3.

I still use it. For the most part, though, I make sure I'm stocked up before queuing.

Leave sign post as is. Just remove 2 min waiting time for voting and if person is outside instance, votekick
possibility (I mean 1 votekick for 4 hours) shouldn't be taken from person who started voting. Don't force people to do content
which thet don't like. I'm often forced to do content with people with 20k gs who even don't have real artifacts and using cobalt weapons.
They not contribute to to succes, but often they want to be carried. I like to help people, but not when I'm forced to do this.

Remove the signpost, okay but they can still leave through the front door of the dungeon and achieve the same result. You want to prevent this too?

How about this. Don't pug queue for REDQ, only go with alliance or guild?

How about making some of the REDQ dungeons that players immediately want to skip out on because they take longer than the others, take less time?

How about split the harder dungeons in the REDQ list into a harder section making a higher teir Queue list that gives more AD reward. I know the dungeons that like to have bailers are CR and Lomm. Why not put them into a queue of their own for more AD reward. That way players who cant complete or dont want to complete CR or Lomm because they are 10 times longer than CN, provide the reward incentive instead. There might be fewer bailers if they split the REDQ list into two categories making a new tier.

Additionally CR, Lomm and IC can be added to this tier.

Removing the sign post is just a silly solution.
