Advice needed

Probably a daft question but here goes.

I have three items (weapon, waistband and slipknot) equipped which I have spent substantial points refining. Now I've collected some other items which have slightly better stats but the equipped items are still showing as recommended. How do you decide whether to swop out or not?
Help?

    In order for someone to best help you'll need to list the items that you have put refinement points into and what the new items are that you have.

    Just the two.
    Undermountain greatsword level 634 Artifact equipment rank 38
    vs
    Forgotten greatsword of the prospector level 805
    and
    Undermountain swordknot level 649 Artifact equipment level 43
    vs
    Sword knot of the fallen guard level 840

    You'll soon see Alabastar(Drop from Master Expeditions in Yawning Portal) and Burnished weapons(Available from the seal trader) as well. One of those is your current best bet to upgrade. There will be new weapons again, there are already newer weapons now. But you need weapons to get weapons!

    One is artifact weapon and the other is not.
    One has 2/3 slots and the other has one (I believe)
    One has set bonus and the other has nothing.
