Question About Mount Speed

Ok, I know you all with think I am crazy when you read this but it’s bugging the heck out of me.

I have a lego mount (set at the highest speed) and also have the first guild mount speed boon– I think it’s +2-3% buff.

The other day we were doing an alliance influence run and there was a person there who was from a level 3 GH (so no possible way to have the Lego speed buff) and they moved (on their mount) at least 10-20% faster than I did.

I’ve looked every where and can’t seem to come up with how that is possible. The only thing I can come up with is maybe it’s due to lag? But that seems a stretch to me.

Any ideas?

He had a a mount that was the next step up from legendary. Mythical.
Lucifer, the light-bringer. Leading man to ruin and away from salvation since at least 1986!

There are a few other ways to increase speed overall. I don't know if any of these apply, but:
    * There's the movement speed boon in Campaign Boons
    * The boots of Misty Step mount bonus is +5% speed
    * I believe Dex affects speed, but I have never been able to confirm that
    * There's foods that give a movement bonus, like Lightwine
    * Certain equipments have conditional movement boosts, such as after killing an enemy or when standing still for a long time.

Any or all of these could contribute.

I think there are a couple other mounts that give bonus riding speed, too - not sure which ones. Adventurer's Horse, maybe?

Things that affect a character's unmounted speed are not suppose to affect their mounted speed.
