I seem to have a bug when refining items for the wonders of gond event. It goes like this:
1) I collect eleven (or any number) of grommets. When I go to refine them, it shows that I have 10/2 available, instead of eleven. When I refine the stack, the first refinement consumes 3 instead of two grommets. When complete, I now have 5 of the next level refinement items.
2) When I go to refine my 5 new items, it shows that I have 4/2 available and 3 items are consumed on the first refinement try. At the end, I have two of the next level refinement item.
3) When I refine my 2 new items, it shows that I have 1/1 available. When I refine them, two items are consumed on the first try.
4) Here's where it get's weirder. For ANY of the higher level refinement items that require 1/1 to refine I must have a stack of at least two items to refine as one is never recognized. When these are refined there are two possible successful outcomes (always use preservation wards): successful refinement to next level item and item shows up in inventory, or successful refinement and item DOES NOT show up in inventory.
It's truly bizarre and aggravating. Has anyone else out there had a problem similar to this?
Thanks.

You refine an item and use the same kind of item as regent.
e.g. you had 11 items.
1 item is the source, 10 item is now available for regent and you need only 2 to do the work.
Hence, 10/2.
e.g. you have 5 grommets. I called them G1, G2, G3, G4 and G5.
You want to refine G1. G2 to G5 are available for you as regent.
After refining G1, G1 becomes the next level of item and G2 and G3 are consumed. You still have G4 and G5.
Using p-ward does not mean it will be successful. It only means when it fails, you won't lose your regent but you will lose your p-ward.
Thanks for the info.
The difference in this case is: the original item is grommet and the regent is also grommet.
