Public Dungeons

I have played this game for a while and during the Elemental Evil campaign the game had some what of mini public dungeons. I would like to see public dungeons in other areas of the game. A great place to start would be WoD Tiamat's Trial. Where the 1st 10 people in the instance can access the trial. The same way we call for dragon runs every 45 minutes. Having a public Tiamat Trial would be great for the game and community. If it is a success maybe have other maps with public dungeons.

Are you referring to a setup where people show up at a location, at a specific time, and enter this "dungeon" together?

Similar to how Demo used to be in Underdark?

Tiamat once operated similar to this too. I still remember we would all have to rush the door for Tiamat entry and try to time our button pushes so that we could all get in to the same instance of Tiamat.

As someone that's been there, done that, I don't see the added value in this.

And limiting it to the first 10 people in an instance for Tiamat? How's that going to work? What if person 8 & 10 have no interest in running Tiamat? It's not like you can easily control instance creation in some areas.

Most importantly, besides showing up at a specific location for entry, how is this different than just queuing up a 10 man Tiamat with a random pug?

I do like the idea of new areas having these instanced little mini dungeons, similar to the 3 mini-dungeons in WoD.

No, more along the lines if I enter a dungeon that's in a zone. An example would be gray wolf's den, there is someone already soloing the dungeon. I could join them just by going to the dungeon entrance and join them without queuing. You do not have to wait for people to que, or wait by the entrance. You enter the dungeon and fight your way through the dungeon.

Or lets say the prison camp you enter the prison and you might find people already in there fighting. It's not a hard concept it's actually implemented in a few other MMO's that I play.
