Can you drop Sinye's quest to convert armor pieces and still farm resonance?

I ask because I'm sick of the misery. The only reason I farm it for more than a few minutes is to earn enough to clear that damned quest out of my tracker. I sure as hell don't wear any of the garbage that I end up creating. I just want to drop the stupid quest and only farm resonance on an as-needed basis. I've had it with the invisible ice patches, invisible whirlpools, invisible whirlwinds, and waves of critters where everything chain-stuns you. The experience simply sucks hard and I'm sick of it.

    I dropped the quest "Rune-Etched Armor" and still able to farm resonance.

    If that is the quest you are inquiring about.

    I just put an "x" in the little box so I wouldn't see the quest anymore

    uh... piece of advice dunno if its true or not but i had the quest an dropd it an ya sure i was still gettin the ren from the "he's" in um .... but the chest in the m.e's? those essence pieces that can drop for the shade boss the can show after a boss kill...... or the rune etchings to trade with zok? nvr got a single one til i re aquired the mission (an before i did i had run enough me's witout the mission to get all mny alts me gear an the 500 relics achievement)..... an since ive gotten one essence an i get an etching evrytime now.... so might be best to jus holdon the mission... least in my exp lol but jus a theory

    I personally do not drop any quest intentionally. I may not complete it but I won't drop it unless that helps to fix a bug. Dropping a quest is always problematic because you don't know what may mess up. I personally just won't take any chance about that. Hence, I have a lot of quests in my journal.

    If I didn't have better armour I might equip it... but that bar? It's just too high a hurdle when you have a chance to get something better dropped off the bosses. Another case of the item not being worth the grind.

    I dropped the quest and for some reason was so bored I did an ME the other day, put 1 empowered rune down....open the chest at the end and nothing happens......go back take the quest to restore the armor, and do another ME and this time I get the reward........I just hate that I have to keep a quest active which I have no intention of completing so that I can do some other campaign related stuff (collect loot from ME's). Who the hell is gonna spend that much time and farm up 1200 resonance to gain +100 to a few stats and +10 IL?????
    see wht i ment lol.... but ya not me thats why i nvr finished that quest to strt wit lol
