Maze Engine campaign

zimxero#8085 zimxero Member Posts: 876 Arc User
The Maze Engine has always been a really long campaign. Sometimes players even forget to run the daily mission. It does not engage us... and seems more like a chore. I think this campaign would be more engaging if the Pwent storyline was injected into the interludes. Completion of each daily mission (during interlude) would unlock a chapter of the Pwent storyline. This gives more to do each day... & if the Pwent chapters also gave a Tales of Adventure... the pace of the campaign would not feel so boring. :)

In my opinion, storm king thunder is the most dreaded campaign. Not only u need to deal with all the useless intro quest the campaign throw at u each time u unlock a new map, u need to grind the hell out of the campaign with the meager amount of vonin blood and ostorian relic u get each day. They need to increase the amount of vonin blood and ostorian relic we get from the quest.

Agree on the Voninblod. I can farm it fast... but it should not be a requirement to learn fast farming. 100 voninblod per quest would help a lot.

Maze engine is one of the fastest campaigns we have. 5 min everyday for 30 days and ur done. I agree its boring and like all other campaigns its a chore u have to do to get the rewards at the end.

But as far as length or speed goes. Its short and fast. Most campaigns done without any form of speed ups takes about 30 days+.

Maze engine is even easier now, with the campaign patronage token and Sybella's Legacy Campaign quests.

If you use the patronage token on an alt (for this your main must have completed the campaign and must have bought the patronage token for 50.000 AD plus a small amount of campaign currency) you already get most of the "tales of adventure" tokens, required for the entire campaign, from the quest-line. The quest-line quests (act I to IV) have no waiting time.

Because the patronage token halves the number of required "tales of adventure" tokens, you only need maybe 5-6 additional "tales of adventure" tokens, if you subtract the tokens you get from the (non-time-gated) quest-line.

For these 5-6 tokens you had to do the daily "defending the sword coast" quests, at least in mod 15,
meaning you could have completed the entire Maze engine campaign (on an alt) in roughly a week.

However, in mod16 you can use Sybella's legacy campaign quests, to get the 5-6 required "tales of adventure" tokens as the special reward from Sybella, for every completion of a legacy quest.

Theoretically, in mod 16 you can complete the Maze Engine in a single day, provided
    - you completed Maze engine on some other toon, earned 5 "tales of adventure" tokens and paid 50.000 AD
    - you give the patronage token to your new toon, before (s)he starts the Maze engine Campaign,
    - you do the quests in the quest-line, until you cannot proceed further because you are short by maybe 5-6 "tales of adventure"
    - you then go to Sybella and turn in 5-6 Legacy Campaign quests (best to have them done before, without turning them in), choosing the Maze Engine as the special reward.

you crazy? you have to use sybella's rewards on storm king thunder, not only long a tedious, but you have to go by boat half of the time, better to use the additonal rewards there.

SKT bottleneck for me is voinblood and Sybella does not give enough of that.

U do SKT campaign ? U never heard of buyouts ?

Buyouts are the easy way. Adventurers never take the easy way.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

Smart adventures see that its faster to farm the AD for buying it than it is doing the campaign. Ive done it 1 time, bought it 4 times. Without the option to buy long campaigns i wouldnt have so many alts.

Then the 4 you bought it for aren't real adventurers. Delete them :p

I would never do a buyout because it "skips" the campaigns. If they offered a package that halved "all" campaign costs for $100 for one character, I would have bought it for all of my alts. I might be the oddball here, but it is lost revenue opportunity i think.

I don't buy out but I would skip. SKT is the one I skipped for most characters. SKT boon were not good then. Now, as boon point is even less useful. Boon points after having 60 is not that useful. I have not spend those (after 60) boon points in my characters yet. Spending resource to get SKT campaign is a kind of lose course.

SKT is a royal pain. Its one of the worst time killers in the game. As I dont have unlimited time, I did the following:

    - I bought 1 campaign buyout token for my main, to get the account-wide unlock on the dungeons
    - I don't even visit SKT with any of my alts.
    -
I might visit SKT to do Sybella's SKT Legacy quests, but only if all of my alts have completed all other legacy quests in all other areas (so far, this did not happen and is not likely to happen, unless I lose my job)

I used my rewards for ravenloft, the most recent campaign.
Didn't even start Ravenloft before mod 16 launched, completed it with almost no effort with Sybella's help.

So there are quite different strategies, depending on the time you have, how much catching up you need to do, etc.
