Companion suggestion

deldrachdeldrach Member Posts: 178 Arc User
HI everyone. I currently use a legendary allure augment. I want to increase my power and want to know if there are any suggestions to other companions that could raise my power. I looked into an Alpha compy however those are entirely to expensive. Thank you in advance.

Well, for max power, you want Deepcrow Hatchling for an offensive slot. Alpha Compy is even better once you reach 160K power, but as you said it is a bit expensive - there are some hints it might come back later....maybe as a Zen store purchase.

There are, however, several companions that give +4000 Power and then boost a secondary stat as well. They are:
    • Ghost, Kenku Archer, Mercenary (Offense, util)
    • Minstrel (Defense, Utility)
    • Neverember Guard Archer, Storm Rider (Utility)
The Minstrel is particularly interesting, as it can use a Defense slot. The Mercenary is nice too, as the other stat it boosts is CA.

Now, to further boost Power, consider a legendary Black Ice Warhorse if you can afford it, legendary insignia of dominance, radiant enchants, empowered runestones, +1 Power armor kits and the new artifacts that provide Power.

    Hoping for improvements...

Where is your power at right now? Is it over 100K or are you still below 100K?

Arcane Whirlwind instead of Black Ice Warhorse, because looks matter.

    and money too...

... Arcane Whirlwind is less expensive.

My power at the moment is 136k

The most important thing is getting your stats above the enemies counter stats. Once you have those the next thing is getting power up. Anything above 100K is good. I have around 120k and have kept up now with a few other wizards that had over 150K in power.

Interestingly our one Utility, defense slot is very limited.

You can't put utility, offense there like ghost(4k pow+2k crit), Kenku archer(4k pow+2k arp), Mercenary there(4k pow+2k ca).

You can't put pure utility there like Stormrider (4k pow+8k hp).

You can only put the utility, defense there like Minstrel (4k pow+2k awareness).

I don't know if anyone has better companion for utility, defense slot?

While awareness is not that important against standalone bosses I put Neverember Guard archer there for defense.

There's no such thing as a Utility, Defense slot. Our slots are only 1 type..an Offense slot, a Defense slot, or a Utility slot. The companions, however, can be more than one type as you described. For example, a Minstrel that is labeled as Defense, Utility can go in either a Defense slot or a Utility slot.

Is there any point in being over cap on any stat? Or should we be aiming for exactly 80k(higher for the ones that are higher) and then start maxing power/hp? I know in future mods the cap will go higher, but if I had say 85k crit, and have no good way of bringing it down to increase others, is that extra 5k wasted?

No point in being higher than caps. The extra 5k is wasted but the real question becomes how much effort you want to put in to getting those caps as close as possible.
