Improvements to Chult Hunts seem overstated

There were three changes to chult hunts. Here are my experiences with these changes.

1. rares have a increased chance to drop trophies

My experience so far: about 50% drop rate (1 in 2 drop trophies).

2. hunts have a 100% chance to drop trophies

My experience so far: every hunt dropped a trophy

3. +5 rings chance has been significantly increased

My experience so far: one +4 ring, and a whole lot of +1 and +2 rings.

In conclusion, I think (1) and (2) are working as intended. But (3) is not. It may actually be worse than pre-Mod 15. So while I know this is anectodal, I think (3) is overstated.

well, an increase in drop rate from 1% to 5% would qualify as significant, right ?

Anyhow, several of my guildies reported getting a +5 ring yesterday, so an increase seems quite likely ... just not a massive one.
    Hoping for improvements...

Saw several allies showing off +5 rings they received in hunts.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

I'm not saying that people aren't getting them. I'm simply saying that the chances being increased seem overstated - at least, in the 20 or so I did, it seemed significantly DECREASED (i.e. I received more +1 and +2 rings post-Mod 15 than I did pre-Mod 15).

Yes, that would count as a "significant increase." And you're probably right. The fact that they didn't provide the actual increase (in terms of concrete numbers) leads me to believe that it was something like this. It's somewhat underhanded and misleading, clearly designed for players to sink more time into just one more RNG mechanic.

You have a small sample size and basically your argument is that you haven't gotten one yet?

My 'argument' is clearly too nuanced for you, since I'm not speaking in absolutes. Re-read what I wrote please. In particular, it might be helpful to read not only the clarification I made to you, but also the portion of the text that is in bold and italics...

It doesn't change the fact that your sample size is too small to judge results with.

I guess this 'significant' drop rate increase is not going to help me get the +5 Shadowstalker is it.......sigh.....

    Shadowstalker isn't a hunt reward.

Dude, I got 3 x +5 rings and whole Rex set in less than 30 minutes of hunting.

The drop rates of everything are 100% spot-on! Do you expect to have 5 regular hunts and that +5 rings will drop like rain all of a sudden?
It still needs to be a bit challenging, but manageable. Say, take around 20+ hunts per mobs and don't do them all at once. Make a little pause, do something else, take a break, then return. Drop chance increases the less you do it. It needs a time to refill it's luck if you catch me.

Don't say stuff like this please.

Why not? Can you sell +5 rings, maybe? Gain something? They aren't even the top RINGS anymore.

I've got +5 spellfinger, deathdasher, gravestriker etc playing with only one character. And I got even more +5 rings (soon to get achievement) to my character. Since I hunt very frequently I know a thing or two about drop rates. And I can testify that drop rates are, in fact, increased. And I'm only collecting them for the sake of achievement.
My first hunt after a month or two of stagnation (played MHW) against Karkinosh got me a +5 ring. 2 days, 3 +5 rings.
All returning players will see an increased drop chance on some of the first tries whenever they open boxes.
Anyone can test this after postponing the game for a month or two, wait a patch or two.
This is why people will go with various characters, sometimes freshly new ones, just to get a chance to get better items. And people are aware of this or at least try to make a bit of variety whenever they open stuff.

So, no, Devs did a good job here and give credit where its due.
