Key bug

sobacsobac Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 440 Arc User
Not sure how long this bug was out there, but if you have a better/higher rank key in your inv, you can't use the lower rank one. For example:
- you are in one of the Underdark skirmishes, you need a Lesser demonic key to open the chest. If you have a Legendary/Greater demonic key and craft a Lesser one in that moment, chest key requirements will not update. If you don't have any and craft it, once crafted the needed key, you will be able to open the chest.

Not sure if it was a bug or if the key bag you get from vip gave a double key or if I had an extra key or key there I bought and didn't know I did or not and forgot about it. Saying that here because I'm not sure where the extra key came from, Not that I mind but well it seemed strange to me. I hope the vip key did not bug out and did not get spent and I could get in trouble for it.

I guess its one of those days. Sorry if this post is unralated, but if there is a bug with it I rather they know about it. There might not be a bug at all and its just player forgetfulness that I forgot I had another key. I might have bought it a few days ago went serfing on the internet and forgot all about it. Ever since stopping one of my adhd medication I think I've gotten a little bit more distracted and forgetful. Hopefully they will fix whatever this bug is your talking about.

Dungeon end chests have always been a lot clunkier than you'd imagine, or we'd like them to be. We fixed up the chest system for M15, which should solve this type of issue.
I definitely hope so, I realized that NDemo has been eating my Legendary keys for nothin lol.

Speaking of M15, when can we expect it on preview? This month?

It would be nice if the items dropped from chests could have their stats updated to meet the mod level. For example, I'd love it if the Zulkir's Dreadnought armor or any Underdark ring was end-game viable.

I'd like to know more about the fix.
My idea of a real fix has always been to eliminate the idea of crafted or otherwise specialized keys and just allow players to open chests (at least, once per each dungeon/skirmish/trial per day). Specialized keys are a waste of campaign currency for characters still working for their boons and there's no reason those characters shouldn't get rewards.

It would also avoid upsetting players the way you guys did when you took away the peeking option and made everyone who wanted their then-endgame weapons grind MSVA 5 times as much. That was completely obnoxious and should never be repeated.

no the key is good because you can stack them and run a bunch at once. I wouldn't want to have to log in and make time for one run of htis or that. I would be nice if you could make universal high end keys though. either that or just make your daily key be free from campaign currency. or universal campaign currency

Put the keys you don't want to use in your shared bank, only pull them out when you need them

That works great .... unless the key is BTC, like the Greater and Lesser Demonic Keys. I've even tried sticking them in my personal bank, but the game just pulls the one out of the personal bank anyway.

It works great only if you have max VIP rank. I have VIP and the bank access was the reason I got VIP 12 on day 1 but not everyone has it.

It would be the best if they combined your comments:
Allow people to open chest for free once per each dungeon/skirmish/trial per day - But the second, and every next try, you need a key

Then there would be a bug around the key being used when it was supposed to be 'free' or non-key use, and which key did it eat... :(

I do agree that campaign currency for making keys is bad - I need those for the Stronghold! Would much prefer a universal campaign currency (not Stronghold related!).

Might is not always right - the powerful sometimes forget that.

I'm perfectly fine with how it is and think there are no issues.

If you want to not use currency for keys your fine to do so, as you want to earn guild marks with them instead.

Regardless you have to choose the reward, if you value guilds marks, and earned your campaign boons the donate them. I don't think making yet another system for campaign keys though is the answer. Are they then just supposed to add yet one additional currency for each campaign dedicated for keys separate from boons or campaign advancement? I think the current system is perfectly fine.

You just need to decide the reward you want to take. Decisions... decisions... :o

Well the first and second chest to the right as you enter from the boss area in MSVA dont accept the campaign key but only the Legendary Keys. I had made 4 keys for each chest and i still have 4, i lost 2 legendary keys cause of this. Also the first chest used 5k ad for the rerolls while i had plenty of reroll tokens. The 2nd and 3rd chest used the reroll tokens as expected. I opened up a ticket also, will i please be able to get my 2 legendary keys back? I m sick of this constant inabiliity to fix bugs.
