Anniversary, MOD14: Good and the Bad

THE GOOD
Anniversary: awesome rewards
MOD14: great atmosphere, hunts are more interesting (too early to judge for me though)

THE BAD
Anniversary: The 30 min, stackable AD Bazaar coupons. The people who were lucky enough to get one made a killing. Not sure how others feel about this, but it was a 'WTF' for me.
MOD14: Waiting for nightfall to complete a quest. Well, it is minor annoyance, I guess.

Agree or disagree?

BTW, I think the combination of the anniversary and MOD14 changes seem to be an effort to get lower IL or new players caught up and I think it does a good job of that.

Not sure why it is the bad. It comes up all the time. I don't think you need too much luck to get it. It comes up so frequently that I did not bother to use it after the 2nd times. I probably got more than 10 times. No, I am not a crazy bounty farmer.

I got a number of 50% zen store coupons (packs, refinement, profession packs). Never got a blue or purple AD coupon, maybe not even a green. Did get a few Seal discounts (only green and blue). I opened over 300 (didn't check what I ended up at in the end), so I assumed it was very rare. I opened only about 75 on first day though. Maybe they removed it after day one?

I didn't use the gifting thing though.

I only opened a few bounty boxes per day per character. I got at least one of those every day among my 6 characters.

I did mostly the foreign merchant escort. Was that the wrong quest for it?

Nothing wrong with that. All the bounty box is the same regardless where you get it from.
May be you opened too many in one shot. For example, I don't know if it will pop another coupon if you already have a coupon in inventory.

That could be it. Sometimes, I would open 30+ at a time, or even open as I picked them up, but didn't discard the seal coupon.

But that's why this was bad. Just poorly implemented. You could also be buying the marks off AH without knowing about the coupons, especially during the first few hours of the Jubilee.

    Anniversary:
Good: Awesome rewards, indeed! I haven't checked the total zen cost of all the stuff they dumped on us, but holy HAMSTER! what a haul!

Bad: Coupons - I don't really see this as 'bad', as players were already getting 40% off, so it wasn't a huge difference. Exception - "50% off packs". Which applied to the Hunter Pack. So, one could, in theory, buy the pack, sell the 5 coal wards, and come out even...

    Ravenloft:
Good: Not being punished for taking a group to a hunt! Chances for loot seem to be individual, not group-based, so definite incentive to take guildies along. Quests are decent, and mob behavior has been worked on a bit, too - werewolves are very active in their movement. Also, great atmosphere, and the day/night stuff is pretty well done.

Oh, and the bounty of goods you get for finishing the intro is a great way to drag alts up to a decent gear level. 14 rank 8 enchants, plus decent gear AND up to date artifact weapons!

Bad: I've been ok with the day/night quest stuff - 10 min. max isn't a terrible wait, and I just worked another quest while waiting for it, or killed mobs.

Well, I think the difference is between 15,000 or 8,750 for a GMOP, so not that small, but as plasticbat stated, it should be a common drop, so that makes it okay.

Since you mentioned it, I had problems with the 50% off packs coupon. When I tried to buy the mod 14 or mod 13 hunter packs, it told me "Can not purchase at this time" or something like that. Maybe it was because the coupon timer was down to the last 2 minutes.

I'll give you the WB discount, I was thinking strictly in terms of the Zen Market. I didn't have any issues with my pack coupons (got my first on what I thought was my last bounty, then one soon after doing a couple last merchant escorts). No idea what would cause that, though... Definitely sucks if you still had time left.

You probably did not have room in your inventory.

I loved the coupon hunt , and hope they do that way more often. I got , i think ,a 20% WB never did get the 25% one , out of 400 packs opened. To me it brought the zen prices down to a more reasonable cost and I spent around $200, but I generally think the real world costs of the game are so far out of whack....$10 = 1000 zen = 500,000 AD and a Leg mount can cost upwards of 10 - 12 milion AD so what over $200 for a single in game item ,any way that is off topic i guess.... here is to hoping for more coupon hunts..
