Zen will not be on sale on Xbox during the event this year due to factors outside of the developers control.

Figure! Saved up money to buy Zen and somebody messes it up.
No use buying it later as there will be no bonuses or zen market discount.
Yeah, might as well buy it now. I'm only waiting for tomorrow to buy mine because tomorrow is payday.

Sounds like the problem is with Microsoft, not with the developers. That is an issue when you have to get their approval for everything.
From what I understand, this exactly is the issue. When sales happen are not entirely up to the devs at Cryptic. They are free to ask but Microsoft and Sony are free to say "no".

I played both xbox and ps4. I spent alot on neverwinter (never got a leg mount darn keys) but ps4 was nice because as a ps pro member i paid nothing in tax where as Microsoft squeezes every penny it can from you and i think my connection to psn was better than xbl. Wish i didnt sell the ps4 lol
I'm curious as to why Microsoft has any say in the price point of another company's products/services. Arc is their client. Arc pays them. Microsoft needs to butt out. SMH

It is the contract between the companies that sets the terms and Microsoft's cut for handling the transactions. Microsoft cannot "but out" of its contracts. Sometimes when one party wants to change something, both parties agree, but others one can refuse. Such is life in the business world.

Soooo... should we take up arms and send strongly worded letters to Microsoft, for shafting our opportunity to save some coin? LOL

If you like, but both parties accepted the contract and we, as players, do not know the terms. There may be an annual limit on number of sales and those are booked or already happened. Who knows?
I doubt any complaints are worth the time or effort. Complaining about a discount not happening when there was not one advertised seems petty to me.

You can think it's petty all you'd like. I think it's absurd that a company providing portal access for their console, to another company's servers, has any say what-so-ever in the price point of the in game currency they sell. That would be like me charging you rent for a building I own, so you can sell your widgets, then telling you you have to sell them for "X" price and can only put them on sale when I tell you you can. I'm not annoyed with Arc, I'm annoyed with Microsoft. Arc is having a five year celebration, and regardless of their contract, I'm sure Microsoft could've been cool and allowed Arc to discount their Zen prices, if that's what they wanted to do. If Arc didn't want to, then that's fine. I'm enjoying the Zen Market being on sale, and all the goodies I'm getting. I'm sure there are all kinds of variables going on behind the scenes, and the only info I have is what's seen on the surface, and from where I stand, and with the limited info we're able to get, Microsoft appears to be harshing Arc's vibe.
